LoL. I guess the dirt was the culprit then. Denims might not need cleaning; filters do!
I think it's a good idea to keep changing them every now and then. Keeps the placebo effect going longer.

I know this thread has been relegated to once-upon-a-time zone but heres hoping you can give some inputs still.
For a background, I have a 1.5 year old Fiesta 1.6 which i adore and have completed ~23K kms. Currently its running all stock due to various reasons. Recently starting thinking about tinkering with the mechanics and first was the air filter. Now for the queries!
1. How has been your experience with the air filter since you posted last? Do you still believe its worth going ahead with a modified air intake after your experience?
2. In terms of sound, FE and overall driving pleasure, how do replacement air filters compare with the conicals?
3. What is your current set-up?

Btw, I must mention that my know-how of air filters is what I gathered on reading a few threads here and there.. please fee free to share anything from your experience!

I have now switched to the Spectre(blue one from previous pages) full time.
The K&N got destroyed in an unhappy engine wash.(Dont ask).
I dont think you will get a lot of audio output() from a replacement filter, for sure.
The conical does give a roar when really working the throttle, very addictive.

Current setup is the same as the one the previous page, with the double cone spectre.

whats your plan?

I am leaning towards the conical setup but do not want to spend months perfecting it... let see. Will give Arush a visit at Autopsyche to figure out details.

Another questions, did you go in for any mods on the exhaust side?
