I disagree with the website-I have been using the blind spot mirrors for the last 5 years on my Zen and now on my Fiesta.I have the rotating type on my Fiesta, extremely useful when reversing-in tight spots, meaning close to the pavement, without leaving rubber on them.
It probably takes a day to getting used to.IMHO the rotating type is better than the fixed one-I have used both. Will post pics when I take one today.

+1 to that. I've used these stick-on mirrors on my Accord. Found them particularly useful in eradicating blind spots, on multi-lane highways and biker visibility (to the driver).

+2 to that. I even use a wide angle RVM inside covering much of the windows on rear doors, not only rear windshield.

Whoever wrote that article must have had precise imaging in mind, like when doing photography. It ignores the fact that the driver's mind works with continuous trends ('OK, there is an impatient guy behind me, is he trying to overtake now?') and clues ('Am I too close to the footpath on the left?'), rather than doing precise measurements.

Can someone tell what kind of mirror is which is fixed on Rear Windshield and faces inside of car.
I've seen a few SUV's with this kinda setup but never found what exactly is its use.

BS! I did have the chance of driving my uncle's car (in US) which had these and I found them very useful. No need to turn your neck to check your blind spot. Almost nobody does that in India, so I think it's more of a necessity here. Will fix them to my WagonR as soon as I can lay my hands on one.

You can say that again for fitting a sub-standard audio system in your car and distorting your hearing.

Good article. I never depend on these accessories as there are perfect technical aspects for parallel parking and if people who learn in the US know about these. I never leave rubber on any kerbs by following these simple techniques.

Hi Wolffe, I have them on my car too and I guess yours is a Ford too.

But I have a feeling your stick-ons display exactly the same view as the main ORVMs. I have my stick-ons facing the opposite as yours - the larger rim towards the inside of the car, so that the stick-ons display just the blind spot areas - I adjust them such that the moment something gets too close to disappear in the main ORVM, it shows up in the stick-on.

Isn't it the right way to have them? Comments?

I bought a high quality MINI PANORAMA convex mirror for 250/- (a pair ) at Unique Car Fashion, 51, KP Tower, 2nd Cross, journalist Colony, JC Road. B'lore-2. Its an improved version and it really works great! Thanks for the heads up on the advantages of this accessory. Its a life saver and a keeper!
