Re: Mahindra small car - spotted in Bangalore

Mahindra had showcased this car at the auto expo.

The NXR will be offered with three battery options – small, medium and large – to cater to a variety of driving ranges. There will be two kinds of batteries – lithium ion and lead acid but Mahindra will focus more on lithium ion variants.

re: SCOOP : Detailed Reva NXR pictures. UPDATE: Badged as the "E2O"

This version definitely looks like a car, as compared to 1st get Reva. What is the expected launch and price? I believe earlier one was around 2+ lakhs

The current Reva costs more than 3.5L OTR bangalore and goes up to around 4.2L for the top end model. This new one if priced similarly could fetch a few buyers, but anything more than 5 could be a disaster in waiting. I only wish Govt threw in some subsidies for full fledged electric cars like these!

3.5L is too much for that ugly looking thing. New one looks good, but again with that pricing it wont make numbers.

re: SCOOP : Detailed Reva NXR pictures. UPDATE: Badged as the "E2O"

Saw the Reva NXR being tested in bangalore in feb 1st week. 2 pics which i could manage to click (sorry for the quality, had to shoot from phone cam). Though the quality of construction needs to improve by leaps and bounds (for ex. see the fittment of taillamps)

re: SCOOP : Detailed Reva NXR pictures. UPDATE: Badged as the "E2O"

I think Govt wouldnt plan to incentivise this considering our power situation.
1. We arent yet power surplus - deficit is so huge that we wouldnt think of incentivising its usage any more.
2. Power charges are at a discount to market and hence Govt. would be unwilling to extend its subsidy burden.
3. In case of gasoline, the govt. is at least raking in the moolah through taxes.

The case for pollution is the only thing that stands, but i think its a long way for that to overcome the above 3 points.

Re: Mahindra developing a small car - Codenamed BRL

Is this the BRL? Thinly disguised M logo on the wheels and the back. Caught on the Ring Road in Bangalore in some mild traffic. The grill looked cool.

Nope guys this is the new Reva. The NXR or something.. It's not a petrol car mostly! From photos, it looks like it doesn't have an exhaust even

Yes it is the Reva NXR... Mahindra has couple of launches Mini Xylo & Verito CS to take care of before they go for the BRL.

Seen a couple of these testing and they seem very peppy. Are these still prototypes or are they available for sale already?

Must be test cars. Had they been launched, am sure that there would be some advertisements as well as some reviews up in various places including on this site.

Before my Nano purchase, Reva was one of the cars i went for a TD. The OTR for the top end model in Bangalore is Rs.4.81L.

I purchased Nano for Rs.2.3L and i can use the remaining Rs.2.5L for petrol

That is perfect, a definitive difference and most arguable age old debate about buying petrol or diesel car, now add electric car to it. And specially small car such as Nano or Reva has very less amount of running in a year, and probably will take many years to recover the premium that you pay for electric or diesel car.

OT : besides that Nano is better looking, more space and much better car in my opinion.

Edit : I just saw the pictures above, heck it looks ugly from the side.
