Kenguru (USA): Electric cars for those in wheelchairs

Now for a different flavour of news: A Texas lawyer, Stacy Zoern quit her job and began to build her company, Kenguru, which has designed small electric cars specifically for people in wheelchairs.

Commendable! Can be a great car as a local / neighbourhood runabout. In the USA, all public places are wheelchair-friendly anyway - it's remarkable how nearly every restaurant, mall, big store, theatre etc. has wheelchair access. Am certain the price of such a vehicle will fall substantially after the initial months of introduction. There are some conventional cars that are wheelchair-friendly, but they'd be a lot more expensive.

That's excellent news!

One older gentleman I used to work with had to use a wheel-chair.

He had to drive around in a big Ford commercial van adapted for his use, with a wheel chair lift and hand controls.

It was a long process getting in & out every time.

Something smaller like the Kenguru will probably be a much easier option for a quick run-about to run errands.
