The original looks very low and long WB and hood, almost like an estate. This one looks more crossover like.

Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head, Audi India, hinted that the German carmaker will soon launch the e-Tron here and is likely to make a formal announcement this month. He also revealed that e-Tron will be launched in two body styles - SUV and Sportback.

Audi’s First EV For India Gearing Up For Launch:

- The e-tron, which will come in both SUV and Sportback body styles

-Audi will offer the e-tron in two broad trims: e-tron 50 and e-tron 55.

- The e-tron will come with eight airbags, a digital driver’s display, and four-zone climate control.

- It will be offered with two battery packs: 71kWh and 95kWh.

- Expected to be priced from ₹ 99 lakh onwards (ex-showroom).

- While the e-tron 50 and e-tron 55 variants will be available in the SUV style, the latter will also be offered as a Sportback.

- Audi’s electric vehicle will come in a total of nine exterior shades: Plasma Blue (exclusive to the Sportback variant), Glacier White, Catalunya Red, Floret Silver, Galaxy Blue, Mythos Black, Navarra Blue, Siam Beige, and Typhoon Grey.

- In interiors you’ll get three options: black, beige, and brown.

the e-tron gets ambient lighting, four-zone climate control, wireless charging, and power-adjustable front seats. It also features a digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a powered tailgate. Safety features include eight airbags, front and rear parking sensors, and a rearview camera.

With a 11kWh fast charger, the Audi e-tron's battery can be topped up to 100% with just an overnight charge. In comparison, a regular 15A charge point would take around and a day and a half to fully charge the 95kWh battery pack.

Audi e-tron & e-tron Sportback EV bookings open in India

Bookings for the Audi e-tron and e-tron Sportback electric SUVs are now open in India. Bookings can be placed at Audi dealerships or online by paying a token amount of Rs. 5 lakh.



The e-tron is a 4-door electric SUV that is based on the MEB platform. The Sportback is just a different body style with a sloping roofline. Both cars come equipped with features such as progressive steering, adaptive air suspension, 4-zone automatic climate control and Matrix LED headlamps as standard.



Powering the e-tron are two electric motors - one on each axle. The combined power output is 355 BHP and 561 Nm. In S mode, the power output is boosted to 402 BHP and 664 Nm for 8 seconds. Audi claims that the car will do 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds.



The car is powered by a 95 kWh battery pack that is claimed to offer a maximum range of 359-484 km (WLTP cycle) on a single charge. It can be recharged in 8.5 hours using an 11 kW AC home charger and is capable of up to 150 kW DC charging.



The Audi e-tron will be imported via the CBU route. It will compete with the Mercedes-Benz EQC and the Jaguar I-Pace in the Indian market.

Audi is gearing up to launch the e-tron in India on July 22, 2021. The company has revealed that it will offer the luxury EV in two body styles – Audi e-tron and Audi e-tron Sportback. Audi e-tron buyers will further be able to choose between two variants - the e-tron 50 and e-tron 55. The Audi e-tron Sportback, which has a coupe-like rear, will be available only in the e-tron 55 variant.



The Audi e-tron 55 and the Audi e-tron Sportback 55 draw power from a 95 kW battery and have a claimed range of 359 - 484 km (WLTP combined). Both these cars produce 300 kW (402 BHP) and 664 Nm. The Audi e-tron 50 draws power from a 71 kW battery and has a claimed range of 264 - 379 km (WLTP combined). It develops 230 kW (308 BHP) and 540 Nm. The vehicle comes with a 11kW AC home charger and is capable of up to 150 kW DC charging.





The Audi e-tron is a 4-door electric SUV that is based on the MEB platform. It has a platinum grey single-frame grille, and features such as Quattro permanent all-wheel drive, progressive steering, adaptive air suspension, 4 zone climate control and Matrix LED headlamps are offered as standard on all variants.



Customers can book the Audi e-tron 50, the Audi e-tron 55 and the Audi e-tron 55 Sportback on the company’s website or register their interest at an Audi dealership.
