Kia KX3 EV: Creta-based electric car spotted

Images of the Kia KX3 EV have surfaced online. The Creta-based electric vehicle (EV) is rumoured to go on sale by the end of 2018 in China.

The Kia KX3 EV measures 4,290 mm long, 1,780 mm wide and 1,635 mm tall. It features a blocked out front grille, blue accents on headlamps and new design 17-inch alloy wheels. It also gets blue accent on the air dam and the badges at the rear. The charging point for the car is integrated into the left side of the grille, similar to the Hyundai Kona and Kia Niro EVs.

The KX3 in the all-electric guise is expected to be powered by an 109 BHP electric motor with a claimed top speed of 150 km/h. It gets a 45.2 KWh lithium-ion battery, however its maximum range is not yet known.

Re: Kia KX3 EV: Creta-based electric car spotted

Kia is soon going to launch cars in India.

EVs are soon coming to India.

The Creta is a smash-hit and Indians love it.

I can't help but put 2 + 2 together and wonder if Kia will bring this here. An EV version of the Creta will greatly boost Kia's image as a tech-friendly, futuristic brand. Even if sales are low, it'll be worth the marketing & brand image benefits.

Kia Seltos EV (Kia Seltos Electric) confirmed, to debut this year.

It will debut in China and is planned only for that market currently. It will likely be launched as the next-gen Kia KX3 EV there.

Kia CV Interior Spied, shows multiple screens:

Quote:
the very first interior image of Kia first dedicated EV, codenamed as CV, showing two large displays at the front, one being the instrument cluster and the other the infotainment system. The displays would have a high resolution and are positioned on a panel to give the impression of a single seamless screen wrapping around the cockpit.

The first of Kia’s next-generation EVs will be introduced to Europe on April 2021, constructed on a unique platform specifically engineered to accommodate the car’s world-leading EV powertrain and technologies. Not only will it offer a crossover design which blurs the boundaries between passenger and sport utility vehicles, as well as a future-oriented user experience.

It will also offer a single-charge driving range of over 500 kilometres, as well as sub-20-minute high-speed charging time. Kia Motors Europe will launch many of the brand’s future global EVs following the introduction of the brand’s maiden dedicated zero-emissions model in 2021.

the latest pictures give us our best look at its interior. As you can see, the model will be equipped with a Mercedes-like freestanding digital instrument cluster and infotainment system.

Elsewhere, there’s a two-spoke steering wheel and a rotary shifter. The EV also has slender air vents, an ambient lighting system and what appears to be a minimalist center stack.
