Ford teases Mustang-inspired electric crossover

Ford has teased its next electric vehicle (EV), which could be a Mustang-inspired performance utility vehicle due in 2020 with a claimed range of 483 km.

The teaser image reveals the Mustang’s triple bar tail light and the roof of the car also appears to be taller than a regular Mustang. However, other details about the car are not yet known.

Ford has created a new division called Team Edison to work only on electrified cars based on both Ford and Lincoln models. The company also plans to invest US $11 billion to launch 40 new electrified vehicles, 16 of which will be all-electric.

Nope, this is Ford's Territory that's based on Jiangling's Yusheng S330. If I'm right, this is restricted to China only at the moment but was showcased in Brazil last year to gauge customer response.

Here's the Territory's official press image.

Re: Ford’s all-electric Performance SUV coming in 2020

New Mach 1 is a Ford Mustang-inspired EV , to have range of 370 miles.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E might be the branding for the Blue Oval's upcoming hybrid powertrain. The info comes from the automaker's recent trademark applications in the United States and Europe.

Quote:
Ford filed for the rights to "Mustang Mach-E" with the United States Patent and Trademark Office on March 29, 2019, and with the European Union Intellectual Property Office on April 1, 2019. Both of them protect the name for "motor vehicles, namely, electric vehicles, passenger automobiles, trucks, sport utility vehicles, off-road vehicles, and structural parts, fittings, and badges therefor; metal license plate frames."

At the same time in Europe, Ford filed for a trademark on a stylized Mustang emblem (above). The design takes the familiar look and adds a series of lines through the horse's body. Filing for two Mustang-related trademarks at the same time makes it seem like the logo and Mustang Mach-E could be related.

Ford's Future EV strategy:

This is the first image of a full-scale model of Ford's future electric SUV based on the MEB platform. A preview of the future model in collaboration with Volkswagen, with more compact proportions than an ID.4 with the seal of the blue oval.

First hints of Ford's future electric crossover slated for 2023:

the color reveals that it is a Clay model, a special type of clay so that designers can develop and polish all the details of a new model, which we see worn on large tires, equipped with aerodynamic rims. , practically closed. The definitive clue that confirms the little brother of the Mustang Mach E.

the second with the purest sustainable mobility will not follow the sportier line with a coupé format, but will instead bet on a more familiar style , with a very vertical front. An aesthetic in line with the new zero-emission models of competing brands, which will arrive practically at the same time. The next step for this model is the production of the first prototypes that have more than a year and a half ahead of them to complete development .
For now, details of the powertrain are not known, if the mechanical organs of the MEB platform will be shared or if Ford will mount its own systems , although the German firm is obliged to offer maximum autonomies close to 500 kilometers to compete with guarantees against its rivals.

Quote:
Ford's second electric model will arrive in 2023 , and will be the first fruit of the express collaboration that the blue oval brand maintains with the German one. The American brand has already confirmed that, despite using the MEB platform for electric cars , this technical part will not condition the design that will be its own, as well as the set-up, which will be Ford's own .
A volume model of which they expect to manufacture 600,000 units per year.

The development will take place entirely in Cologne , Germany.
