I have stared thinking about Kona. My native place is about 420 kilometers from Bangalore which I visit 2-3 times in a year and if the car can deliver the promised 450 km range even with an eco mode, Kona would be under consideration.

420Kms is pushing it to the limit. Remember, the 452 KM range advertised for Kona is ARAI numbers while the same battery pack in global markets is market at 300Kms. Even the car computer mentions 300Kms on a full charge.
With an hour or twos charging in between 420Kms is doable.
But you will have to wait till next year as all cars for 2019 are sold out.

you are only going to get 300-350km per charge, i am currently getting 300km in 100% city traffic.
Plan to travel to Mumbai coming week will get a highway range too. Managed to get details on some DC charging points in Mumbai will check those out.
