that's what i don't get, the main concern people have with EV at the moment is Range, Charging times and how to do that. Nobody is questing about the acceleration/torque or speed. They should have released longer videos which show cases how easily they did this on the trip just like it was show cased in 2nd episode. By seeing the series, it shouldn't be the case where some guys go in their EV and get stranded on the way Manali itself! or Pang/Sarchu.

Tata Nexon EV likely to be unveiled on December 16, 2019

Tata Motors will most likely take the wraps off its first electric SUV based on the Nexon on December 16, 2019. The Nexon EV will see a market launch in India sometime between January and March next year as announced earlier.

The Nexon EV will feature the brand's Ziptron EV technology that was unveiled recently. The electric SUV is expected to have a range of around 300km and will be priced somewhere between Rs 15-17 lakh.

I am not so critical of Tata for this web series. How can we expect a manufacturer to reveal every detail before the launch? As it is, they have revealed more than others do. Launch time is known, range is known (about 300 km) and even price range is known.

The perception about electric cars is that they are strictly for city use. You can't go intercity with them, due to the lack of charging infra. They showed one way out, using your hotel to charge it. I hadn't thought of it. 300 km is decent distance to cover in a day.

I was seriously looking for a used car. I am now going to wait for Nexon EV. 15 Lakh is a great price for this car, assuming it is decently equipped.

Too much similarity in campaigns isn’t ideal ,even Tata Harrier had similar campaign mode.

Hyundai, Tata, MG India are early entrants into EV space.

MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona are solid products. Tata has its task cut out against them.

GOI expects 15% of cars to Ev by 2020 which is over estimated.

What surprises me is how Mahindra has fallen behind, despite acquiring Reva and launching e2o much earlier.

Nexon will be priced much lower than Kona and ZS. If top spec Nexon EV is at 17 lakh, and has same features as the ICE top spec version, I see it selling well.

True that, only Mahindra guys know the reasons for the fiasco.

Mahindra has a chance to redeem themselves with XUV300 EV similar way as Tata is doing with ZIPTRON & Nexon EV.

Frankly both Mahindra & Tata EVs like E20 Tigor essentially have given EVs a poor name.

It seems in EVs the price and range bracket will go along, just assuming.

• 200-250 km Ev 12-14 lakh
• 250-300 km Ev 14-17 lakh
• 300-350 km Ev 17-20 lakh
• 350-400 km Ev 20-25 lakh

I would rather see manufactures offering higher battery packs on their EVs that makes better sense.

Mahindra should be kicking themselves for the state they are in, their XUV300 is delayed for another year. I am hoping Nexon EV would have minimum 250km range on the road conditions and below 17L, which surely make it a winner. I would rather have greater range than gizmos in the car.

the newest video shows that the car works at freezing temperature as well as extreme hot temperature. Will be nice to know how they tackled the battery performance at low temperature.
