Since you live in Bangalore, check out the BESCOM locations in the areas you normally go to - they have setup some charging stations. This can be of help when you need to charge up in-between/outside home or office.

What is On-road pricing which you are getting via Wasan Motors?

I am told that it will come around 17.12 for the top variant. What all can I negotiate? I have already pre-booked. Does it mean I don't get any negotiation possibility for Insurance/handling fees?

Any suggestions would be welcome.

3. At the end of three years, if you want to return the car you will get 5.22 lakh from them? or if you want to keep the car you will have to pay 3.74 lakh ?

4. So at the end, you are paying 14.77 lakh(11.03+3.74) in total over three years to keep the car.

If you don't mind, what is the variant you chose?
1. Yes
2. Yes
3. If you return you get nothing, think of it like you bought the car and sold it for it's resale value. To keep the car, it's 3.74L
4. Yes

Pogo,
You have given the answer in your own post. If discoms give discounts for late night consumption, that is exactly what these EVs are doing.
I am not saying the transition to EV is easy. It will take time, but the charging of EVs will actually balance the load for power and actually reduce the gap between peak demand (during the day) and low demand( during the night)

As another member rightly pointed out, you are required to inform the discom to increase the load for your house. So they would have the time and information to plan for increased load from your locality/home.

Also, IMHO, your calculations of load for a house are a bit off. A simple 300 Ltr fridge would take about 100-150W/hr. Any 30" TV would be in the range of 150-250W. a Fan is about 60W-80W. So if you are sitting in a single room (in warm weather), watching TV and sipping cold beer, you could be spending 400-500W in a single room.

Just today I noticed this thing. Private vehicles are white on green and taxis are yellow on green.

Re: Tata builds a Nexon EV. EDIT: Launched at ₹13.99 lakhs

Anybody tried booking a test drive on the Nexon EV website. I tried doing it for Pune, but i do not get the dealership names and it does not allow to submit without selecting dealer.

Which dealer offered you the lease program? I checked with KHT motors and Key motors in Bangalore and they told they don't have a lease option.

As of now only option is outright purchase.

This is going through lease provider like ALD or LeasePlan. You can check out www.salaryplan.co.in for leasing options.

So resale value of Nexon EV is just 3.74 after 3 years?

Bragging rights perhaps. What better way to promote electric vehicles than give owners an ego boost, make it sort of an aspirational thing, so that it motivates people to go green.

EV taxis are yellow on green. Private vehicles are white on green.

On another note. What are the booking numbers? Usually every car manufacturer loves to show off the figure and pat it's back. Maybe the Nexon EV didn't garner as many as it's competition?
