This will be interesting as it pegs them against the Beemers and the Mercs in pricing here.

Model 3 will start at $35000 in the US so can expect it at a minimum of Rs 53 lac.
Model X and Xstarts at $85000 in the US so can expect it at a minimum of Rs 1.3 cr.

Only hope to lower it is if they assemble it here. This does not include shipping and registration.

There was a significant price cut on all models except Model Y.
Model S had $5000 price cut last week and similar price cuts are expected for Model X also. Model 3 had a price cut.
So hoping for price equivalent to US price when Tesla launches in India. I guess the Model 3 will be priced around 35L when launched here.

There is no way the Finance ministry is letting the 110% taxes on imports pass on tesla. Would set the stage for big litigation.

China made an exception for Tesla to setup shop in China. The new factory, known as the Gigafactory 3, is the first fully-foreign owned car plant in China.
Hoping similar exceptions and incentives are given for Tesla vehicles or EV vehicles in general.

I'm currently in UAE for a visit and I'm shocked to see a lot of Teslas here especially in Dubai . There are plenty of model 3s here , within 3 hours of hangout spotted more than a dozen of Teslas -model S,3 and X . It's like more Teslas than say Suzukis . Thumbs up.

Tesla Model 3 India Launch By June 2021 – Bookings Open Next Month

The Model 3 will come into India as a CBU. It is set to be priced from around Rs.55-60 lakhs and will be positioned as a luxury car, unlikely to face any real competition in the country.

The company will not be appointing any dealers but will sell the cars directly with special focus on digital sales.
