Tata Altroz EV @ Auto Expo 2020

The Altroz EV has been displayed at the 2020 Auto Expo.

The Altroz EV has blue markings all over denoting its electric powertrain:

Apart from the blue markings and different alloy wheels, it would be difficult to distinguish the Altroz EV from the regular car:

Re: Tata Altroz EV @ Auto Expo 2020

This car looks very handsome in person. A lot of guys are disappointed for lack of Automatic on the regular Petrol/ Diesel. I won’t like to speculate on the prices but if TATA can pull up something like Nexon EV, this can be a game changer for city commuters. It appears to be production ready so let’s hope they launch soon.

Re: Tata Altroz EV @ Auto Expo 2020

The powertrain looks exactly like the one I saw in the Nexon EV. Since it’s a software driven motor, controlling power output to distinguish it from the Nexon EV should be easy.

Re: Tata Altroz EV @ Auto Expo 2020

A really attractive car, this could be a game changer if it gives similar range as in Nexon in a price bracket of 10-13 lakhs.

Very honestly , I Think this car, if priced well , will be the golden nugget for Tata Motors ! Very well timed by Tata !

Re: Tata Altroz EV @ Auto Expo 2020

Altroz is lighter than Nexon. If we can safely assume that the output of the motor will be less than that in the Nexon and the battery capacity will be the same, the Altroz would theoretically have a superior range and at a lesser cost. Say a 11ish starting price for Altroz EV would make it very desirable.

Re: Tata Altroz EV @ Auto Expo 2020

Many times I have to park i close to a wall on driver side and get out of the car from the passenger side. This split design of the centre console will help in such situations
Being an EV AT, they could make the mode selector as a knob, and hence achieve this easily I guess. The overdone design of the is slowing growing on me and becoming bearable.
If they can get this in the range of 10-15 OTR, it'll be a wonderful offering IMO

Re: Tata Altroz EV @ Auto Expo 2020

Altroz looks like a car which is designed for EV in mind. This looks so sleek. A price range of 10-13 and range of ~300km will certainly bring buyers to Tata's showroom. Exciting times ahead.

Re: Tata Altroz EV @ Auto Expo 2020

Now they should get rid of that stupid selector dial from the center console and make it a button on the steering or something. Valuable real estate for phones and other gadgets are lost to a rotary switch that could be kept anywhere else.

Re: Tata Altroz EV @ Auto Expo 2020

This form factor will be a good thing for urban commute. Tata is going all out with their EV portfolio. They have the potential to shape the market. Hopefully the consumer reciprocates. https://economictimes.indiatimes.com...w/73996838.cms

That must have been a design language picked up from JLR cars. The only difference being it rises from the center console when you switch on the JLR cars. I don't think the same can be accommodated in the Altroz EV to keep the price in check.

I love the look of the alloys. Wish they make it to production, at least as an accessory.

Re: Tata Altroz EV @ Auto Expo 2020

So this knob explains the omission of the gear selector in all the new Jaguar vehicles. Since it has lost it's novelty in that segment - might as well use it in this segment.

The car looks ravishing, especially in this shade of blue. I am expecting tata to come up with a crazy pricing, maybe something just under the 7 figure mark for the base variant.
Let's see

Liked this split centre console, helps when getting down from passenger side.

Of all the talk about EV ready architecture, still looks like the battery is protruding outside, will affect the ground clearance.

Tata should work on increasing the battery size to 40kwh keeping the prices unchanged for both it's EVs within next 2 years. And launch HBX and tiago and tigor with 30kwh battery packs.
