Default Porsche Taycan catches fire in Florida (first such incident)

A Porsche Taycan electric car caught on fire at a residence in Florida yesterday, leading to significant damage to the house and a complete loss of the car.Locals on Twitter who have videos of the aftermath are not sharing details in order to protect the identity of the owner, but they claim that the vehicle “exploded” inside the garage.Porsche says that it is too early to speculate about the cause, but they are investigating the situation. A Porsche spokesperson told Electrek that it is the first reported instance of a fire involving a Taycan. No one was hurt.

Oh boy. That car is reduced to ashes. Most importantly nobody was hurt and thats what matters the most. Good to hear. The loss suffered by the unfortunate owner is nasty. And it will make him ever so skeptical about going for EVs in near future. Such a nasty fire surely would have caused a lot of damage and loss in the parking / garage. Generally they have insurance in NA region and he should be spared of a killer bill.

Porsche must be running from pillar to post to ensure a quick assessment and somehow to get cleared of any car issue.
