BMW iX3 Electric SUV spotted in near production guise.

The unusual aero-focused wheel design is adopted from the iX3 concept, although the car's overall look has been toned down a little as the EV becomes more closely linked to the standard X3. Blue detailing also features at the rear, with two panels acting as styling inserts in place of the usual twin exhaust outlets.

Details of the production iX3's powertrain are not yet forthcoming. When the 2018 iX3 concept was first shown the plan was to offer a battery capacity of over 70kWh, a range of around 250 miles and an electric motor rated at 270bhp.

BMW iX3 electric SUV to be unveiled on July 14

BMW will be unveiling the iX3 electric SUV on July 14, 2020.



The iX3 is based on the BMW X3. It was unveiled in concept form back in 2018. The SUV is powered by a 74 kWh battery and an electric motor that has an output of 282 BHP and 400 Nm. BMW claims that the iX3 will have a maximum range of more than 440 km (WLTP cycle) on a single charge.

Ahead of the official unveiling, BMW has released a teaser image on its social media. The image shows the car's twin-kidney grille. This being an electric car, the grille has been blanked off.

Pre-production of the iX3 commenced last month at BMW production facility in China.

2021 BMW iX3 Revealed With 285 Miles Of Range.







The electric BMW is based on the current X3 and features a fifth-generation eDrive system, including an 80 kWh battery pack and an electric motor with 282 HP and 400 Nm of torque. BMW says that the iX3 will be capable of traveling up to 285 miles (460 km) on a full charge.





BMW iX3 is compatible with up to 150 kW of DC fast-charging, during which it can recharge from 0 to 80 percent in just 34 minutes. A 10-minute charge at a fast charger will also add 62 miles (100 km) to the iX3’s driving range.

First spy photos of the BMW iX3 M Sport 2022, the sportiest electric SUV:

a new shape of the headlights, thinner like the facelift of the X3 range , with a lower edge more horizontal and smoother lines. Furthermore, the distribution of functions will also be repositioned, equipping the optional laser light and the "angel eyes" will also have a new, more modern and more polygonal shape.

Where improvements are not expected is in the performance of the propulsion system, with the 286 hp it offers, although BMW can offer an improvement in the dynamic section .

Assembly line/Factory tour of iX3 by Fully Charged Show China. Interesting to see that both X3 and iX3 are assembled on the same line (AFAIK Mazda's factories are even better: they build different models on same assembly lines). 300-400 cars per day and can go up in future.
