A very attractive car; a stunner to look at. The rear seat area is rather cramped and a downer. Dickey space + Frunk is also so-so. If in 2024 I replace my Volvo XC60 (Delhi's diesel 10-year rule) then this car is for sure a serious candidate to check out. Always loved the XC40 for its simple and ageless look, It does not grab eyeballs, and yet gives you a very classy looking car, Now an all electric version at a really good price. The EV6 would have grabbed a lot of unwanted attention, This am sure wont.

With Volvo's safety standards, Now we get worry free service packages and a 8 year warranty on the battery. A great package by Volvo, The C4 looks killer too.

Am curious, How does the one pedal drive work?

If I am in market for a premium EV I will buy this any day over KIA EV6.

+1 I believe prices will drop a bit over the next 2 years - scale, battery improvements, taxes, incentives.

Somehow, even if warranted, my belief is that prices never drop in this sector (other than on account of lower taxes and incentives of course).

They either remain stagnant, perhaps in some situations trigger discounts, but never seem to formally come down.

Agree, even if they do fall - it is only a matter of time before the RTO subsidies and the like in many states are withdrawn.

The Kia EV6 is a bigger car and probably a slightly better car in some other aspects as well. But given the Rs.10L price difference (compared to EV6 AWD), I think this is a no-brainer over the EV6.

Beautiful beautiful pricing! I had a feeling this would happen when Volvo announced that they would locally assemble the XC40 Recharge, but the Chandigarh SA saying 60-70L expected put me off. This was definitely a surprise.

At this price, the car is an even serious contender against the i4 and EV6.

We just booked our XC40 Recharge sage green and the expected time to delivery is 3-4 months as per the website. It seems that the booking portal went live a bit earlier than the 11 am previously stated and now tentative delivery times have also gone up to 8-9 months. Interestingly, the thunder grey color which I thought would be the most sought after was initially showing the earliest delivery date of a month but it now up to 7-8 months like the other colors.

I test drove the car and the performance is sports car territory. I couldn't wipe that grin off my face every time I hit the Pedal. Its instant, its on demand and its always there.

A killer price in my opinion given there is no road tax and makes it well under the 58L mark. I would still give it a year or so to observe how the first batch of models are received in the market and any potential service issues. The pain point with Volvos is their service as we all know they sell well engineered, classy cars. Their service isn't the best out there as you usually tend to wait around for them to attend the issues, for the parts to arrive etc. All in all, I hope they hit this one out of the park.

Nice choice of colour actually. It does ooze that Electric car look.

Also,I believe the red is not made available for India unfortunately and that's a slick cooler and make it look even more sexy!

Thanks vjbox! Actually, red was my pick too! The local Volvo dealer however informed us yesterday that red would not be coming to India and to select an alternate color. We were basically choosing between thunder grey, fjord blue and sage green. Considering that the sage green was a unique and quite an handsome color that isn't ever seen on the streets, we decided to go ahead with it.

The XC40 Recharge is sold out for 2022, with Volvo India planning to deliver all 150 units by end-December.
