The new MG Cyberster concept is said to have been developed at the brand’s Advanced Design Centre in London. The design of the two-door electric sports car concept is said to be inspired by the classic MGB Roadster.

The MG Cyberster comes with a slim grille design, flanked by interactive ‘Magic Eye’ headlamps. The concept car also has a LED strip running across the side of the car, which MG calls the ‘laser belt’. The rear also features LED tail lights which sit flush with the rear panel and has a Union Jack flag styling, representing its heritage.

While the exact technical details of the powertrain are yet to be revealed, the MG Cyberster is said to be based on an intelligent all-electric platform. This enables the concept car to offer a claimed range of 800 kilometres and a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of under 3 seconds.

trying too hard to portray itself as British brand, the tail lamps show. Also, designed in London tag. Only thing I liked is the wheels.

Well if they were so proud of their British heritage, why not lauch it in London rather than at their home country of China.

Love the front, equally hate the rear - especially the arrow type tails lights, are they indicators? Absolutely zero creativity there!

Also the straight line of the tail light with a curved spoiler looks odd!

And then there will be the famous "Internet Inside" badge !

MG launches crowdfunding campaign for its Cyberster Concept production.

SAIC has launched a campaign named MG CyberCUBE to ensure the future of the Cyberster as a production vehicle. The brand wants to reach 5,000 shares to begin the production of the electric roadster. Each share will cost around $154 and the deadline to contribute to this funding is till July 31, 2021.

Quote:
The company said that those who want to take part in this will have to log in to the MG CyberCUBE platform to pay for one share which goes by the moniker Dream Gold. Once the company reaches its goal of 5,000 shares one can consider the amount as one’s deposit. If at all, MG fails to reach the aim, the amount will be refunded to the investors.

Re: MG Cyberster Concept revealed; debut at Shanghai Motor Show

The last proper high volume MG sports car to enter into production was the MG MGB roadster, which was a beauty in its own. It will be difficult to guess as to how well the Cybster might be received, looking at the fact that it has no competition as of now(other than the upcoming 2022 Tesla Roadster). But if the company decides to produce limited number of specimens as the Tesla, it will sell like hot cakes.

The Cyberster has round ‘Magic Eye’ LED headlights, inspired by those of classic MG models, that ‘open’ when switched on.
I dont think there were any classic MG models with pop up headlamps, were there ? Or am I missing something ?
