Audi India has shared a teaser of headlamp of the Audi E-Tron GT.



The four-door EV comes in two variants - regular and RS. The e-tron GT uses two electric motors - one on each axle. The combined output is 469 BHP and 630 Nm. The RS version packs 590 BHP and 830 Nm.



Audi claims that the e-tron GT will accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and has a top speed of 245 km/h. The car uses an 85 kWh battery that is said to give a maximum range of 488 km on a single charge.



The RS version accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/h. It has a maximum range of 472 km on a single charge. Link (Audi reveals E-Tron GT to rival the Tesla Model S)

This is going to be priced close to 2 crores. In the UK itself, the Audi e-tron GT comes in at around £100,000. Considering India's insane import duties, I'll be surprised if it comes in any lesser than 2 crores. Audi is certainly not going to assemble the car in India so will definitely bring it in CBU format. Personally I don't see the business case behind its introduction considering the Mercedes EQC and Jaguar I-Pace all costing a crore by themselves. In the UK, they are priced lower than the E-Tron GT.

The Audi is brilliant on its own, but I don't see the point in them bringing it to India.

Audi is not at all worried with lack of models to compete with BMW and Merc.
Nobody in India is waiting for these E-Tron models which may hardly sell 1 or 2 pieces a month.
Its very disappointing to see Audi India not making any efforts to bring in their most successful model Q3.
They keep postponing the launch dates. Its highly unlikely they will launch the Q3 this year.

The competition for EQC and I-Pace from Audi is the Audi E-Tron Quattro SUV. E-Tron GT has its own niche market and Porche will be bringing Taycan to India soon as well.

Man, Audi sure knows how to design ! This is the best looking electric car I've seen till date, better even than its sibling the Porsche Taycan (same platform). Variant to variant, this will be far cheaper than the Taycan too.

VW's Porsche & Audi are coming hard at the upper end of the EV market and we'll see this technology then taper down to their more mainstream cars. The E-Tron GT's charging speed, performance & range are all .

See what I meant about EVs democratising performance? The acceleration difference between the RS & regular version is just 0.8 seconds. The regular will be plenty fast for 99% of folks out there. And I'm telling you, it is electric cars that will bring 0 - 100 in 6 seconds to the sub-15 lakh segments. Something petrol & diesel engines could never do.

They may be waiting for clarity on CBU duties on Electric vehicles. Will love to have something like this but for me, the "sound" is also an integral part of the overall feeling one gets by driving V8's.

Metro also has a quick acceleration but is there any fun?

The Audi e-tron GT launched in India, priced at Rs 1.79 crore, while the RS e-tron GT is priced at Rs 2.04 crore (ex-showroom). The electric four-door coupe comes to India as a CBU.





The Audi E-Tron and RS E-Tron GT in flesh



The battery is an 93kWh unit from which Audi claims a range of up to 500km for the standard e-tron GT and 481km for the RS e-tron GT as per the WLTP cycle.



The Standard e-tron GT quattro features a 238hp electric motor powering the front axle and a 435hp motor at the rear axle. Both motors produce a combined total of 475hp and 630Nm, with boost mode taking the power up to 530hp. The top speed is 245kph, with 0-100kph achievable in 4.1sec.



As for the Audi RS e-tron GT, the total system output rises to 598hp and 830Nm of torque, thanks to a more powerful rear electric motor. In boost mode, power rises to 646hp and the RS e-tron GT is capable of a 0-100kph time of 3.3sec and a top speed of 250kph.



Both models are capable of AC charging up to 22kW which takes the battery from 5 to 80 percent in 9 hours 30 mins and DC fast charging up to 270kW which takes the battery from 5 to 80 percent in just 22 and a half minutes.

The Audi E-Tron GT gets charging ports on both sides.



Safety equipment includes 9 airbags, traction control, ESC, a 360-degree parking camera, and a variety of driver assistance systems like Lane Departure Warning.

The Audi e-tron GT features a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, connected car technology, a shift-by-wire gear selector, a 16-speaker Bang and Olufsen 3D sound sytem, ambient lighting, 3-zone climate control, adaptive air suspension.



The RS e-tron GT comes with a RS styling package which brings with it a sports steering wheel with alcantara upholstery and contrasting stitching, Nappa leather upholstery on certain panels and Express Red or Steel Grey seatbelts.

Deliveries for the new e-tron GT will commence by January 2022.

How do these go with Taycan, variant vice? Won't the Turbo-S Taycan at 2,34 be more VFM considering Porsche Brand, even if the cars are similar?

Or does, Audi MUST Discount everything and has to factor that while launching products?
