Current Nexon has a top charging speed of just 21kW. This basically means you have a lot of cars hogging up time at 30kW and 50kW chargers.
It won't be 50kwh flat, just like it isn't 25kwh flat in existing version, It would be reduced to somewhere in the region of 40 to 45. BTW, 50kwh charging isn't all the time, it is PEAK charging rate, and it isn't the same always.

on our 30.2 (28.6) battery, it takes 1 hour 10 minutes to charge to 100% from 5%.

A typical EV user has his car fully charged most of the time. It's unlike the ICE world where you go and fill up your car when you are out of fuel. Here it becomes a default behavior to plug in your car every time you park. That way it's almost always fully charged. To prevent battery degradation due to excessive charging, most owners charge up to 80%, and only when they plan to go on long drives, do they charge up to 100%.

So unless you are struggling to keep your phone or laptop charged due to excessive power outages or plan to drive 100s of KMs every single day, I don't think few hours of power outages is going to matter.

That range showing up is an estimated range based on previous driving pattern of that particular vehicle. After driving on a hilly area and then charging my Nexon EV to 100% it shows the range 118.

But that's not even the real world figures. So don't think that can be considered actual real world range.

Watching the video of "MotorOctane" yesterday, the guy said that current Standard Nexon EV doesn't have regenerative braking. What a genius!
So I will take what these "pro reviewers" say with a pinch of salt.

Here is a screenshot from Zigwheels walk around video of Nexon EV MAX, showing 362 km of range at 98% Soc. Nexon EV owners are getting a decent range of 220-250 km on a single charge expect 330-350 km for Nexon EV MAX with gentle pedal. Infact with manual regenerative braking along with drive modes there are endless possibilities on range.

There are two factors at play here:
1. The daily run
2. Number of hours in a day car spends parked available for charging

For most EV owners, daily run is much lower than the full range. Plus they top up the battery overnight.

Only for ones with daily run of 200+ kms and no assurance of even 6 hours of charging at night, will EVs be impractical. At least not as the only car.

The new car seems to have more powerful motor, as it is a single speed GB the range in city and highway and depends on the motor efficiency at different speeds. The highway range suffered on the old car as it was tuned to be efficient at lower speeds. Can anyone throw light on any change in this? This could have a major impact on real world range and usage.

My Nexon EV has never delivered more than 220 km on a single charge, despite disciplined driving and optimum usage of regenerative braking. As I said, 70% of ARAI certified range is what one can expect as real-world range. I'd be glad to be proven wrong but I doubt if Max can deliver more than 320 km of range with realistic/practical usage. Just trying to set the right expectations for potential buyers, since sales folks will always sing optimistic tunes

It still baffles that people struggle to understand how the range figure works on the dashboard. it's an estimate based on your efficiency for the last few kilometers. If you go downhill in a ghat section, your DTE will show an insane value for range, doesn't necessarily mean you will get that. Like wise, if you drive very spiritedly then you will get lower numbers. They did this during the original Nexon EV launch as well stating that you will get 160 to 180, after they drove few kilometer flooring it.

My Tigor EV gives me a range of anywhere between 200-250, depending upon how I drive it and if i’m using the AC or not. Some people claim to consistently get ~270 on the Tigor EV. I know that Nexon EV is a different beast, but hoping that the real-world range would be between 300-350 or maybe up to 375 (because of regen).

Re: The Tata Nexon EV Max, launched at Rs. 17.74 lakh (pg 18)

What is the easiest way to charge an EV for a person staying in the apartment complex?

Is there a thread I can go through to get some insights? My parking spot is 100 - 150m away from my electricity meter. Only option is to pull a cable from there?

I don't think this car can be compared to MG. At this price they should have done an appealing interior upgrade.

Litmus test for E cars will be at approx age of 5-6 years. For the city driving daily night charging janta , normal nexon or even tigor is good enough.

Also I have a feedback of early front tyre wear of e cars, is it true?

Check this video at 8:20, 85K kms with original tyres. Yes, the front tyre wear will be more if you have more friends and want to launch the car everytime they sit in the car.
