Aston Martin to introduce its first EV in 2026; could be a successor to the DB11

Aston Martin has joined the long list of carmakers to announce the arrival of a pure-electric sports car in the near future. According to a media report, the British sports car carmaker is working on introducing its first pure-electric model sometime in 2026.

Tobias Moers, CEO, Aston Martin, has stated that EVs will have to wait till the brand is ready to launch their next-generation sports cars. The brand is said to be in the process of introducing facelift versions of their current models, which will need a few years to pay for themselves.

Moers also stated that the first EV from the brand would be a two-door sports car. The new pure-electric model could be the successor to the DB11. The company is working on converting half its product lineup to electric by 2030.

It is also said that Aston Martin will remain committed to IC engines for as long as possible. However, the British carmaker will not limit its products to just ICE or EVs, but could also introduce plug-in hybrid models in certain markets.
