That's exactly how my 7 year old felt when I showed her pictures of the Curvvv. Her words were, "Wow! This car looks so stylish, can we get this as our next car?"

Re: Tata Curvv Electric SUV concept revealed; previews Gen-2 EV architecture

This is the first concept after Pratap Bose moved out of Tata and the impact is clearly visible.

Not saying that it looks ugly - people will start liking it once it hits our roads (like Creta), but still the H5X concept looked much more cohesive compared to this one.

As always, fit and finish in the final product will be as usual with Tata. Wishing them the best.

Re: Tata Curvv Electric SUV concept revealed; previews Gen-2 EV architecture

This concept just looks drop dead gorgeous.

Even if 80% of this concept comes to production, it will be a hit . Now i hope Tata doesn't mess up the launch timelines like it does with it's every other cars launch and an attractive pricing of under 20 lakhs will be the icing on the cake

But the main question arises is that , Now Tata has launched the Nexon EV MAX which is priced from 18 - 19 lakhs Ex - showroom roughly. Where will the Tata Curvv be placed ?? or will we be seeing the normal Nexon EV being discontinued ?

Re: Tata Curvv Electric SUV concept revealed; previews Gen-2 EV architecture

The Nexon EV Max with 400+ claimed range is starting from 17.7 to 19.2 lakhs.

The Curvv is supposed to be the upgrade from the Nexon and expected with more range, power and features.

Does that mean it will retail 20 lakh plus? And go into MG ZS territory?

Looks like it.

I agree, the Curvv electric will be aimed at the ZS EV. The petrol/diesel variants aimed at the Creta.

Car prices are shooting up as demand outstrips supply currently and input costs for manufacturers are rising as Raw material inflation on everything from steel, electricals, rubber, plastics etc. etc... have shot up.

Tata Curvv, Avinya concepts to make public debut at Auto Expo 2023.

Both concepts will preview the brand’s Gen 2 and Gen 3 EV architecutre; Punch EV will also be on display at the event.

Punch EV will go on sale later this year
The Curvv concept essentially previews a future mid-size coupe SUV that will come with EV as well as ICE powertrain options that will go on sale by 2024. The Curvv concept gets sharp styling with striking, minimalist, yet futuristic cues, which the brand calls as its “New Digital design language” which will be seen on future Tata SUV line-up.

Quote:
It’s sloping roofline neatly integrates into the Curvv’s notchback-styled boot as well as a strong shoulder line, squared-off wheel arches and body cladding that add to the SUV’s ruggedness. On the inside it gets a three-layer dashboard, multiple screens and some angular design elements.

The brand had earlier revealed that the production-spec SUV based on the Curvv concept will use the new Generation 2 EV architecture, which has been designed to accommodate multiple bodystyles and powertrain options. The Gen 2 architecture is a heavily modified iteration of the Gen 1 architecture which is currently in use on Tata EVs. The modification allows to fit larger batteries and different powertrain options and even an AWD dual motor setup

Tata Curvv production version spotted testing.

Quote:
It will be based on the Tata Nexon and both the cars will get styling inspired by the Curvv concept. Considering the aggressively curved roofline, ihis will be the production version of the Curvv and not the Nexon.

I am very confident that the above image is the facelift of Nexon and not Curvv. Curvv would be tested on EV and not ICE.

Autocar India thinks that CURVV could get i-CNG options as there were CNG buttons on the capacitive touch panel.LINK

How right I was when I commented this on the walkaround video at the Auto Expo all those months ago!

Re: Tata Curvv Electric SUV concept revealed; previews Gen-2 EV architecture

The Opel Crossland looks eereily similar to the Tata Nexon, like a matured Tata Nexon. The design silhouette looks just like the Nexon. The size of the vehicle isn't far off from the Nexon at 4212 mm and it even has a 1.2L inline 3 cylinder turbo engine option. Maybe Tata should have taken inspiration from Opel Crossland for the upcoming Creta fighter instead of the the Curvv. The Curvv may look good, but coupe suv have a limited appeal. A conventional design may have been more appropriate for a Creta fighter. Looking at the booming 4.3 m segment, a good design coupled with features could have helped Tata Motors in taking a fight to the reigning sales champion. The Nexon after the current facelift is doing good volumes, which shows people are liking the vehicle and the design(even though the rear has room for improvement). A matured Nexon may find acceptability in the marketplace as compared to the Curvv.

Looks like the trial production of the CURVV is underway! Notice the huge slot for Panoramic sunroof in the bodyshell. Tata Motors is surely pushing the envelope with its industry-best designs!

Re: Tata Curvv Electric SUV concept revealed; previews Gen-2 EV architecture

Since Curvv EV is the most anticipated launch of 2024 and is gearing up for the launch, I wanted to ask fellow BHPians what you think about the possible range in the Currv. Nexon facelift LR has a 40.5kWh battery with 465KM claimed range. Curvv, with more efficient generation 2 architecture and more prominent size (4.3 meters), I think the overall battery pack and range would definitely be higher. With the bigger battery, it would be a game changer if the claimed range is 550-600km and a real-world range is 400-450km. What do you guys think?

My personal take is that Tata will be using 40 and 50kWh as MR and LR for curvv to differentiate the segment (the LR of previous segment is MR for next)

This is already seen in Tiago also where MR is 19kWh and LR is 24kWh, while Nexon being 30 and 40.

Now there won’t be a range drop but not a range increment either, over the NEV LR because of larger vehicle size and weight. The aero improvement from coupe shape and gen2 platform will nullify weight and power increase of the motor.

Yes, even if you see overseas, most cars in 4.3m segment like atto3, ZSEV, Jeep Avenger etc have 50-60kWh and once you move to 4.5m+, you can accommodate 70kWh+ (Ioniq 5, BYD e6)

Right now, NEV LR compromises space a lot to fit 40kWh. It’s same story with kona EV 39.2kWh which was only marginally bigger than Nexon.

Curvv MR will be same as NEV LR in worst case ie 320-350km WLTP, while Curvv LR at 50kWh will easily come to 400km WLTP (500+ arai)

Harrier will probably start where curvv ends ie 50kWh and go upto 60/70kWh for true 500km range like Ioniq 5 and e6.

70kWh is minimum for 500km. (140Wh/km)
