Decent updates, but the biggest pluses of the Max were the hill hold, traction control and rear discs. Would have been great to bring these features to the EV as well.

Re: Tata Nexon EV Prime with Multi-Mode Regen launched

This is revolutionary! I am not sure if such a major upgrade has been given by another manufacturer - FREE OF COST!

I am curious how the cruise control will work with just a software upgrade. Shouldn't there be a physical button to switch in on, and set speed, etc?

How I wish Nexon Prime included the safety features from Nexon Max - ESP and a "P" position on the gear selector!

Tata is proving its customer centric approach and Is taking these great decisions, I believe such gestures will go a long way in building the brand image of Tata.
I am sure if Tata keeps improving its brand like this, it will establish itself as a world class high quality manufacturer, from India

This is beyond great news. Giving meaningful free upgrades to existing customers is a really welcome move.

Agree, but rear discs and traction control will need hardware which may not be possible at all in the existing setup. Hill hold, I think, should be possible with software.

Yep, that's the single most important feature that is required to make this car a proper car rather than a jugaaad ev.

In manual cars, we have an option to put the front wheels in gears (read brakes) and pull up the hand brakes (rear drums) while parking on steeps inclines.

Now, in this car, one does have the option to put two decent sized stones in front or behind (depending on incline or decline) each front wheel to make sure the car does not roll. I have been using this jugaad on my MM550, when the handbrake was not sufficient. Although I have mastered this art and it's not a big deal but using this technique on EV sold in 2022 costing rs. 17 -18 lac. Well this would definately well look like a jugaad. And I would be embarrassed to do this to a brand new car with green number.

I mean, if you put a stone on a MM550, it's kinda fun. You will never feel embarrassed or guilty doing that to it.

But spanking new beautiful chic car and putting stones. Nobody deserves to do this.

What a great move from Tata to keep the owners happy and the car relevant. How are they going to implement these features? Because for features like cruise control and multi mode regen they should have a button right.

Re: Tata Nexon EV Prime with Multi-Mode Regen launched

This is absolutely amazing news for Nexon EV 1.0 owners.

I am still trying to understand how Tata will manage to add the functionality of cruise control and multimode regen without the addition of physical buttons. As far as I can see the only choice would be to use the 2 LR buttons and the select button on the right side of the steering wheel to access these features. Any other ideas?

Yes, am wondering the same. Also, hopefully cruise will disengage on pressing brakes. else it is a safety hazard

I have to do this everyday as my office parking is inclined and on the main road. First day i parked and engaged the brake and got out of the vehicle it started moving. Started putting a huge stone infront of the wheels daily ever since. I get a feeling that engineers at TM forgot about the parking brake otherwise why would Max have it and the other variants dont? It is not a feature it is a requirement.

Being an OEM implementation it'll definitely have cruise disengage from the brake pedal. No two ways about it.

As per the image in one of the posts above, menu selection button will also cancel the cruise.
