Atto 3 launched in Thailand today for THB 1,199,900 (~26 Lacs)

This is the 60kw model and includes
- 1 year free insurance
- 8 years full maintenance service, labor cost, spare parts
- 8 years of Emergency Assistance
- 8 years or 160,000 km warranty

It also gets a 150,000 THB subsidy, and a super low 1.68% interest offer.
Also to build confidence, 32 new showrooms seems to have been opened.

Since India is a developing country like Thailand (unlike UK where prices are high), we can expect the following at tomorrow's launch:
- similar good pricing (<30 Lacs)
- great warranty and service coverage for piece of mind
- announcement of many new dealer locations across india

BYD unveils its second electric car in India.

BYD Atto 3 unveiled in India, prices to be announced in December.
It’s offered in a single variant with a 60kWh battery pack.
Notable features include ADAS, 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen and panoramic sunroof.
Gets a 204PS and 310Nm electric motor, good for 0-100kmph time of 7.3 seconds.
Has an ARAI-claimed range of 521km.'

It gets two charging options: a 7kW AC charger and an 80kW DC fast charger.

Exterior highlights include LED lighting, a chrome strip along the bonnet and 18-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, it gets a layered dashboard with funky looking AC vents and a 12.8-inch touchscreen.

Expected to be priced at Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom) as a locally assembled offering

The electric SUV will be brought to India as a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) model and prices will be announced in December followed by deliveries in January. It’s offered in a single variant with a 60kWh battery pack.

The Atto 3 gets a 60kWh battery pack powering a 204PS and 310Nm electric motor. Spinning the front wheels, it takes the Atto 3 from nought to 100kmph in a rather quick 7.3 seconds. And when it comes to range, the electric SUV offers an ARAI claimed range of 521km. Internationally, there is an option of a smaller 50kWh battery pack that powers the same electric motor.

Naturally, the electric SUV offers fast charging options with a 0-80 per cent top up time of 50 minutes. It also gets vehicle-to-load functionality, meaning it can power certain appliances in your home in case of a power outage, like the Kia EV6.

The bookings for the BYD Atto3 begins today at a token amount of ₹50,000 while deliveries will commence from January 2023 - Link

Prices will be announced in November 2022.







BYD has its e-platform 3.0 on display at the launch of Atto3.

Wonderful warranty package and coverage. 6 years free vehicle warranty is unheard of.
Then again, they are an unknown brand and entry into Indian market as a chinese brand will be tough. Will be interesting to see if they can stay in the Indian market that long too.

They still need much better dealership presence, only one for entire Bangalore is really bad.

Wonder why they are holding on to the price so much.
Will the booking amount be refunded if we decide to cancel before delivery?

Reading through the brochure, there is no mention of the heated seats option seen in the Australian spec Atto 3. Though heated seats may not be usable in India, it would have been fantastic if they had replaced the heated seats with a cooled or at least ventilated ones. Considering the price point this is heading to, this will be a sore point.

Nice of them to get the long range 60kwh model to india, and this has V2L functionality as well, which could be very useful, no need for UPS battery for home

It would have been nice if they had announced the price today itself rather than pushing it ahead, I guess it has to do with them changing the vehicle route, which was to be SKD before and now it is CKD.

Solid launch. Should set a good benchmark for upcoming launches by other brands.

Dealer network is pretty thin. Looking at the dealer names, at least some names sounded familiar (& notorious too, meaning they are dealers for other brands). It will be interesting to watch how BYD manages the dealers.

Waiting for story to unfold. Even though the specs look lucrative, my risk appetite is looking the other way.
