Scoop! All-electric Citroen eC3 interior spied

Earlier this week, we got a peek under the hood of the Citroen eC3. Now, here's what the interior of the car looks like.



Spy images suggest that the cabin of the electric Citroen eC3 will be identical to its ICE version. The car has a 3-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel and a touchscreen infotainment system in the centre. There's no automatic climate control or keyless go. Also, note that the conventional gear lever makes way for a toggle switch. It also has an ECO mode.

The Citroen eC3 shares its underpinnings with the standard C3. Rumours suggest the car could be powered by a 30.2 kWh battery and an electric motor producing 84 BHP and 143 Nm.

The Citroen eC3 is likely to make its debut in January 2023 and will compete with the likes of the Tata Punch EV.

That's really sad! This was a great opportunity for Citröen to add more features in the eC3. I just hope that the spy shot above is of a lower trim, and that the higher trim comes with these features. Hopefully they also incorporate them slowly to the ICE version. It's not too late, Citröen!

I think the power figures are good. They should translate to good performance on the road. It will be difficult to beat the Tata Tigor EV and Tiago.ev in sales though, given Tata's much wider presence in India. If priced sensibly, it would be a great alternative to the relatively less powerful Tata twins

Citroen eC3 will be one of the first media drives of 2023. eC3 needs to be feature rich to take on the current tata Evs in Indian market.

Quick Note here, i recently spotted a Citroen C3 EV too and i saw in the MID the range was showing 493Km of range and it showed a battery icon that was at about 70-80% charge. Pretty interesting sight. This was in chennai OMR where i spotted the car.

Very unlikely for India spec eC3.

Now, Citroen does need a cheap electric city car for their European markets, and the petrol C3 has a wheelbase longer than the Altroz. So, they might have managed to add a 50KWH battery for export models. But that also sounds a bit iffy - Citroen sells the larger and heavier eC4 with a 50KWH battery pack. And that big a battery may create floor height issues.

It leaves open the possibility of an early prototype or poor estimation of range like the completely useless ARAI numbers - I hope Citroen don't implement it like this on the production version. Accurate real life range prediction improves EV ownership experience. They have taken an honest, back to basics approach so far to their petrol cars in India. I'll love to see them advertise the expected max real range in city use. Let reviewers make that a major talking point. (Citroen can still leave the ARAI range number displayed at the bottom of print ads or website to provide a comparison with other EVs. And they can directly compare battery sizes.)

I hope they add EV 'must have' features of cruise control and hill hold to all EV variants, unlike the Tiago.ev. Cruise Control is mandatory to get the max possible range out of the car on the road. In EVs, cruise control is mainly a software feature on the ECU/ motor controller. Needs minimal additional hardware (just the buttons to control it).

I really hope that Citroen spruces up the interior compared to the regular C3. That instrument cluster especially looks hideous in the ICE version! A mass market EV with the basics right and some good pricing can really work wonders for the brand.

Saw the base version at a charging point.

I requested the driver to sit inside and he kindly let me.

What surprised me there was no infotainment / music system, at all. Never thought of an EV that basic.

It was hard plastic all around.

Since, the driver was very polite and I dont want him to be in trouble, I am masking everything in the picture.
