This is how it looks after the install. Fills up the wheel arches properly.

On a parallel note, as a continuation of my no sense and sensibility, I have acquired an Indigo XL classic DOHC 16v petrol. Currently being restored . Will update soon!

There is an extended warranty offer going on for all tata EVs even the ones purchased 2 years before . It's a flat rate irrespective of the date of purchase.

Please see attached table for details.

Offer valid till end December. IMHO,looks quiet reasonable.

Upgraded from 175/65 R14 to 185/60 R15 on Tiago EV xz+ LR. Opted for Yokohama Bluearth GT-AE51. The stock ceats were nothing less than rocks. Car is way more comfortable now. Does not crash on patchworks any more. Absolutely stable. Car is 12000 kms old.
Its hard to get alloys in 108 pcd.

Looks brilliant, I am considering 185/65/14, are you facing and range drop? if yes by how much?

I need ro drive further to cross verify range drop, if any.
But speedo reading has changed. Earlier it was 18.3 kms from home to office. Now is 17.8 kms. Charge consumed was same (100 % to 93%) but someone i am having a feeling there is some drop. Need to drive more to verify. Ceey mild drop in acceleration is there though. Alloys are just 1 day old.

I have been driving with 185/65/14 Yoko Earth one since day one. I swapped the tyres at 61 KMs. So can’t comment on actual drop on my car however I have spoken to multiple owners and it seems tyres have resulted in a 15-20% drop. I have never got more than 190 KMs on full charge. Where in multiple users have reported 230 kms. The range specifically drops on expressways. I recently drove on Mumbai Delhi Expressway and maintained a speed of 65 Kmph with occasionally touching 70 KMPH. Covered 160 KMs with 13% remaining at the end of the journey. Also I had expected the ride to improve however there isn’t much difference. Probably because the wheels I chose are negative offset. Also the tyres touches the edge of wheel well and it has resulted in multiple cuts on outer surface of rear tyres. I have covered 22500 kms so far on these tyres and thinking of going back to the stock size.

Are they going to use the better prismatic cells for this model ? I guess not because they could have increased the capacity of the LR version. It is high time Tata completely moves over to prismatic cells for their EVs.

A good set of updates, but they should really have used the opportunity to get rid of the buttons in central console. The regen adjusters should have been a paddle, the charging gun should just unlock when the car is unlocked (when the car isn't charging).

Adding some more observations:
I wish they removed the MR variant altogether and repositioned the LR barebone in that price point. Was in service center yesterday for diagnosing an issue and overheard an MR user complaining about ~100Km range. The C75 range for MR variant is ~150km, wonder how he ended up with 100km range (perhaps he lives in a hilly area or the battery might be faulty). Anyway, the Tiago MR shouldn't exist.

Tata Motors have omitted leatherette seats, tweeters, fog lamps from top variant and have increased the price making it less of a value proposition now.
Apart from this ARAI claimed range has been reduced from 315 Kms to 295Kms.
P.S
The Ziptron name has been omitted and it seems Tata have gone for new battery architecture.

Additions - Isofix mounts, 3 point seat belts for 3rd passenger, fixed but larger headrests for rear seat.

Isofix and 3 point belts for 3rd passenger are not new; these were added in previous model silently (along with several updates like 45w USB C charger, Auto dimming IRVM etc.).

The slightly larger headrests like the Tigor is a welcome upgrade; I'm planning to add an adjustable headrest to my Tiago at some point along with map pockets if I can find matching material. If not, I guess I'm changing the upholstery and adding ventilated seats.

I completed 1 year with Tiago EV in January and have driven 23500 KMs so far. Sharing some observations from last one year.

Positives

1. Economy- The primary reason for buying this car was I have a high running and didn’t want to waste money on fuel when I could have another car which will compensate the EMI itself. So far the total energy consumption from my home charging has been 2750 units. Roughly translating to 22000 rupees. I would have spent about 2000 rupees on public charging stations. The remaining time car was charged at my office. I ended up driving the Ecosport only 3000 Kms during the same duration.

2. Small and Agile - I have always driven full size sedans all my life. This is the first hatch I bought for myself. My primary car used to be a Honda Civic AT. So this is a big change and the peppiness of electric motor combined with small size makes this an idle city car. I ended up selling the Civic 3 months after buying Tiago EV since I didn’t really need three cars.

3. Service cost- This is the area where it really shines. I have spent about 6K rupees on service. The last service at 22500 Kms costed 1K and the service at 15 K kms was only 300 rupees ( Free service). The next service should set me back by 5-6 K approximately.

4. Headlights- In the sea of all LED headlights being offered in today’s cars I prefer the halogen set up. It really helps in the dense fog in North. I drove a close friends Scorpio N and the lights on that car were really bad.

Negatives-

This is going to be a long list.

1. Suspension- I find the car’s suspension to be very average and it bottoms out easily. I also upgraded the tyres right after the purchase and got negative offset alloys. So the outer edge of the rear tyres got a lot of cut marks due to sharp edges of wheel well. I installed RogerAB to cure this problem. It is much better but still not satisfactory.

2. Head Unit- This is the part of the car which I hate the most. It is a completely useless unit. The apple carplay has a mind of its own and only works 50% of the time with frequent disconnection issues. I tried multiple cables but still the same issue. And TATA service centre has not been very entertaining on this. Some days it would just not connect the entire day but the phone gets charging and on some days it will connect instantly only to get disconnected in few minutes. The worst part is we can’t even change it considering the warranty policies on EVs. I would really love to have an android HU with full fledged audio upgrade. For a 12 lac rupees car the Music system is way below expectations.

3. Space - While I understand it’s a budget hatch and is only expensive due to being EV. However I feel TATA could have managed the space little better. The front seat could travel little more to create some extra space when rear legroom is not required. I am 5’11 and sometimes it is really tiring to manage in the tight space while being stuck in the traffic jams for hours.

4. Inconsistent range- The range also has its own mind. Sometimes when you start after a full charge the kw/h calculation will shows 200+ and willing settle around 140-150 at the end of my journey to office while on the very next charge cycle it will show 120 kw/h with same traffic and same temperature.

5. Expensive body repairs- I checked with TATA for bumper repaint due to some scratches and they quoted ~ 6K plus tax. While I got the entire quarter panel on my Ecosport painted for 2K plus tax at Ford.

6. Random rattles- There has been rattles from dashboard since the beginning every time I report this the service centre comes back saying they have applied some foam to eliminate it but it comes back eventually. Also some rattles keep popping up randomly. There’s an wind noise at the top right corner of driver door but I haven’t been able to get it fixed so far.

7. Lack of service centres- It’s not a car issue but more of a brand issue. I see so many new sales outlets being added in last few years however service centres have not been increased. Due to this it becomes really difficult to visit for any adhoc issues with the car. Recently my car started showing incorrect range but I avoided visiting service centre due to the distance. The car was showing 65 Kms range on full charge.

49000km update and low range after software update.
Our Tiago Ev LR has completed 2 years and odo is 49k now.
At 45k service the software was updated and ABS module was replaced as the TPMS light was continuously ON and was not going. Now after this service/update the range has dropped. Earlier the AEC was within 106 for a 5k trip .Now the AEC is not coming below 130. The service as usual are not of much use. They have done recalibration and have asked to do 30 to 100 %full charge and observe. The car is usually driven by a single person and on sparse traffic. So the AEC was always under 110 even if driven harshly. But now since service centre is clueless i just might have to live with this. Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

I had experienced a similar issue after VCS or what ever they call upgrade. Tried my methods of calibration but was not satisfied. The SA came back saying drive in what ever way you want upto 60%. After it comes down to 60% try to get the AEC below 120 kwh and maintain it for next 20-30km. I was able to do that and the issue got resolved. The Range and AEC was more acceptable.
