Similarly the Ioniq 5 RWD 77kWh battery version sold outside India prodocues 228 hp. So battery capacity does indeed have an impact on the horsepower.
Lol yes. Sometimes I forget that the RWD was also on the market in India because I don’t think they ever delivered a single one.

Yes, you’re right as I just checked the 72KWh battery version does have a lesser output. But I would contribute it to an upgraded motor and battery which are being procured from the same supplier as Kia. Hyundai and Kia were initially using different suppliers. The 2023 Ioniq uses the new 77.4KWh and upgraded motor.

Plus the magnetic pad next to the instrument cluster display is also a unique touch where you can get stuck magnets of your liking be it family photos or travel memorabilia.

What color did you book? I’ve booked the gold matte.
Congratulations on your booking. When is your car expected? I have been given a date of May 23 end.

I was really looking forward to the blue color I saw in international videos. But unfortunately it is not being offered.

So even I booked the Gold color. Hopefully get to test drive it soon.

Re: Hyundai Ioniq 5 @ Auto Expo 2023

I think most people have booked the gravity gold matte colour only as I feel the other options (white and black) don't suite the car that much and are very basic for such a futuristic looking car.

Hi, can you provide detailed breakdown of city & highway range? Have gone through tons of videos on YouTube but have absolutely no resource when it comes to range in terms of ev6 or ioniq 5 for Indian conditions. Would appreciate a detailed report on charging & consumption from your experience.

Saw white Ioniq 5 at Modi Hyundai Thane, the car looks good but the colour doesn’t do justice to its looks. I too have gone ahead with Gravity Gold matte.

Re: Hyundai Ioniq 5 @ Auto Expo 2023

The Gravity Gold Matt finish would be the colour of choice considering the other options provided. I do think that the car could really use a de badge of the Hyundai logo on the front bonnet.

Saw this you tube video where somebody has de badged their ride and it looks really clean. Attaching a screenshot from the video.

Thank god you guys got it in Gold. We don’t have enough beauty shots of the car in that color and I think most people have chosen to go with that over White and Black which don’t really suit the car anyway.

The mail just said end of March is when they’ll start shipping out. But the representative said it would tentatively be the first couple of weeks of April.

I haven’t really done a detailed breakdown because I haven’t used it as much as I’d like. Work has kept me in the city and I’ve done only 1500 km. I’ve only charged it 4 times. 😂

I like to keep the car in the 20-80% charge range. I’ll keep an eye on the range data when I charge it next. These figures are reports from other Indian EV6 owners.

Re: Hyundai Ioniq 5 @ Auto Expo 2023

What are resale values of these premiums EVs likely to be in 4-6 yrs times? Once the warratied 8yr life is about be to.be exhausted?

If there's new battery tech that comes in, how likely is it that older battery pack could be replaced with newer chemistry?

No rear wiper? How will this fare in the rains? Or is it hidden out of sight?

Honestly, the whole resale value formula is a mystery as of now. It depends on too many factors. But hoenstly I don’t see it being bad especially for more modern EVs. Resale buyers who buy cars for Pennies on the dollar expect expensive repairs anyway. When you buy an 8 year old S Class for 15-30 Lakhs, you know you’re going to have expensive repairs due. The battery is just a new component to be added. Overall maintenance is anyway lower because of fewer moving parts. Also it depends on the mileage the previous owner has done. So far battery degradation hasn’t really been terrible on most EVs. But then again only time will tell.

Also a big point to note in case of the Ioniq and Kia are that they’re based on an 800V architecture which is the most advanced out there right now. The only other car with the same level is the Porsche Taycan.

Re: Hyundai Ioniq 5 @ Auto Expo 2023

I would’ve loved if they offered the Matte Dark grey because I feel it’s the best color on the Ioniq 5, but this gravity gold is slowly becoming one of my favorites too.

No rear wipers. It’s a big complaint with the Ioniq internationally. But the cameras are excellent so that’s something I guess.

Over the next few years, I expect new processes and mechanisms will evolve to just "state of health" of a car being resold. e.g. battery state of health report-out from a diagnostic kit. EV makers may even come up with battery replacement offers for buyers of new cars (a la Apple Certified Refurbished products). I am sure the EV makers will also be deeply interested in the resale value and a thriving pre-owned. They would know as much as anyone else how important that is for maintaining customer loyalty to the brand (just look at Toyota India)
