Kia is set to unveil its all-new pure-electric SUV, which will sit above the EV6 in the brand's electric model lineup. The new electric offering from Kia, called the EV9, will use the brand's e-GMP (Electric Global Modular Platform), which it will share with the EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6 and Genesis GV60.

The Kia EV9 has been spied testing on multiple occasions. Latest reports suggest that the South Korean carmaker is finally set to debut its new flagship SUV sometime in mid-March 2023. Ahead of its global unveiling, Kia has also released a couple of videos, teasing the front and side of the EV.

The EV9 SUV comes with large proportions all around and has a wheelbase of 3,100 mm - the largest that can be achieved on the eGMP platform. The platform comes with an 800V electrical architecture which allows the EV to have fast-charging capabilities of up to 350 kW. The EV9 is said to be powered by a 64 kWh battery, which with the fast charger can be charged from 20 - 80% in just seven minutes. The electric SUV will be offered in two variants, a lower trim with a single motor at the rear axle and the top-spec version with a dual motor setup powering all four wheels.

Kia hasn't revealed too many details of the upcoming EV9, with more information said to be announced at the time of unveiling.

Kia has today revealed full details of It’s First three-row seat electric flagship SUV the EV9.

The Pre-order of the EV9 opens in 2nd quarter for the Korean market and in selected global markets from the second half of this year.

The EV9 is set to make its inaugural physical debut at the Seoul Mobility Show 2023 later this month and It will then be showcased at this year’s New York International Auto Show in early April.
