Re: Tata Harrier EV caught testing; interior spied. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 21.49 lakh

How does Summon mode differ from Auto Park? Is it just another gimmicky, impractical feature like some of the ones we've seen in Mahindra BEVs?

When you use 'auto park', you are inside the car and you use 'summon mode' when you are outside the car.

What we need is steering input in the remote as well. That will be a game changer. Speeds could be limited to 10kmph.

Seems like the backseat is low and one needs to sit in a knees up position, as seen the in advertisement.

Re: Tata Harrier EV caught testing; interior spied. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 21.49 lakh

Few misses in Harrier EV that i have noticed are Rear Headrest (for middle passenger), Rear seat recline/sliding, Some more ADAS features close to Mahindra Twins and RWD at 25 ex-showroom as one of our bhpians mentioned would have been a good deal. I really like the product and I feel pricing is the key.

I’m also surprised that the frunk is really small i feel more space could have been created out of it

And any users on digital IRVM can you guys share the impact/usefulness while using that. It looked like an after thought to me from TATA releasing that boot space might be small if not measured till roof

Re: Tata Harrier EV caught testing; interior spied. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 21.49 lakh

Does anyone have an idea on what the quad days are?
The 13th-14th June as mentioned on the launch day. The news have mentioned it as the performance demo of the vehicle, but wasn't it done prior to the launch itself?

Will the price and features of all the trims be released by then?

Tata Harrier.ev top speed and kerb weight revealed

Tata Motors recently launched the Harrier.ev in the Indian market. It comes with a dual-motor setup, which gives it all-wheel drive capabilities. Now, new details about the electric SUV have emerged, including its top speed and kerb weight.

The electric motors that power the front and rear axles of the Harrier.ev together deliver 287 BHP and 504 Nm of torque, which allows the SUV to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.3 seconds.

Anand Kulkarni, Chief Products Officer at Tata Motors Passenger Electric Mobility, has confirmed that it has an electronically limited top speed of 180 km/h. According to him, the Harrier.ev is actually capable of reaching even greater speeds, exceeding 200 km/h. However, the company did not see the point of raising it further.

What’s more, the Harrier.ev is capable of hitting triple-digit speeds in a quick time despite its weight. Depending on the variant, the Harrier.ev weighs 300-400 kg more than the diesel Harrier. The RWD version tips the scales at 2,235 kg, while the QWD version weighs 2,336 kg. Kulkarni said that Tata was able to achieve a 47:53 weight distribution.

Any confirmation on whether they are using prismatic or their older cylindrical batteries. There are rumors doing the round that they have gone back to cylindrical battery for Harrier ev. That looks illogical so some confirmation from their side would be good.

Re: Tata Harrier EV caught testing; interior spied. EDIT: Launched at Rs. 21.49 lakh

Kudos to Tata for the 4WD effort and a 0-100 time of 6.3 Secs! But I have a few concerns:

1. A 2 Motor setup implies that the power is supplied to the Front and Rear axles as a whole. Does this mean there will be no way to send 100% power to a single wheel in the case there is slip?

2. Is the General Indian public ready for such a drastic increase in power? Majority of the mass market car do 0-100 in 10+ Secs in ICE form, a drop to 6.3 Secs is a huge bump. Hope this does not increase the incidents of careless driving or control lapse.

P.S. I am in full favor of the market to shift towards more capable and powerful cars, but then I am an Enthusiast.

As per this tweet ( https://x.com/TeslaClubIN/status/193...jRDMiJFNg&s=19 ), Tata has gone back to cylindrical cells even after accepting the lower reliability of same with respect to prismatic cells themselves!

You can read it here : https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/elect...ml#post5983516 (Why you should care about your LFP battery pack configuration?)

Autocar article reference about Cylindrical cell. https://www.autocarpro.in/feature/ha...rtfolio-126886

I am hoping that just like Curvv, the higher battery variant would be prismatic. If not, then it will be a let down.

Digging some details, I found some very interesting yet alarming facts.

Tata is using EVE C33 cells, which are rated for following application as per EVE themselves:
Quote:
Two-wheelers,Three-wheelers,ESS Application,Sweepers,Vacuum cleaners

The nominal Cycles(times) is just 2500, which when compared to blade cell is 8000!

How can we even compare the products now? On one hand is Mahindra, giving the best BYD cells made specifically for Automotive use and on the other Tata giving 2/3wheeler cells in its top premium product!

Fun Fact :
Bajaj Gogo electric 3w gets pack from Taco with Prismatic Gotion cells.

For a general user, how much does it really matter. Tata is already giving a lifetime warranty (unlimited km) on the battery. The 1500 odd cycles of a NMC battery is more than enough for most users worldwide and here you are getting 2500 cycles. So in reality this is a non issue unless you really want to keep the car for a long time or have very high daily/monthly runs.

Only point I will make is that, they could have fitted a bigger capacity battery in the same space had they went with the prismatic form factor. Maybe that is reserved for the next refresh.

I doubt it’s exactly the same cells. The cells in your picture is rated at 0.5C/1C. However the harrier does 1.5C. So it’s probably a different type.
