According to media reports, Tesla has announced that it will offer colour wraps for its Model 3 and Model Y. Depending on the colour, the prices for the wrap range between US$ 7,500 - $8,000 (approx. Rs 6.23 lakh - Rs 6.65 lakh).



Tesla officially offers a choice of 5 colour options for both the Model 3 & Model Y. This includes Midnight Silver Metallic, Pearl White, Deep Blue Metallic, Solid Black and Red. With the introduction of the colour wrap, both models get an additional seven choices.



The wrap options are divided into two groups: three of them are priced at $7,500, and the remaining four are offered for $8,000. The more affordable options include Slip Grey, Satin Ceramic White and Satin Stealth Black. The costlier options include Glacier Blue, Forest Green, Satin Rose Gold and Crimson Red.



Tesla states that apart from the aesthetic upgrade, the wraps, made from self-healing urethane-based film, also provide protection for the underlying paint from chips, scratches & swirls. The carmaker also confirmed that the prices for its colour wraps include the cost of installation.

Reports state that the colour wrap option is currently a pilot project from Tesla and is available at only 2 service centres, both situated in California.

I think this is a precursor to Cybertruck launch which has body made out of cold rolled steel and therefore is not painted. This would be a way to have it colored in the paint shade you prefer or not.

I cant help but imagine how bad a$$ Cybertruck would look in some matt shades.
