Chinese EV maker Nio has released a new video of its premium offering, the ET9, shaking off a few inches of snow from on top of the car.

The video shows a camouflaged Nio ET9 clearing large chunks of snow from the windshield, roof and windows in just a few seconds via a manoeuvre similar to how a dog shakes off water from on top of its fur.

Reports state the manoeuvre is thanks to the ET9's Intelligent Chassis System, also known as SkyRide. The system integrates steer-by-wire and rear-wheel steering and comes with a fully active suspension, which ensures a smooth ride even on the roughest of road conditions.

The Nio ET9 itself is a premium offering from the brand and will rival the likes of Audi, BMW & Mercedes-Benz in China.

Hey, we have already seen these features in the start time of Fast and Furious movies, the car dancing up and down and left and rightrl:
Only difference there was no snow on top of it in those scenes.

Now an old modification done by kids, put to use in a right environment by this brand.

Muscle show cars have hese features. But they had never shown such a thing like shaking off snow. Works for dry powdery snow but not for those sticky icy ones.

Can we take a moment to Applaude the engineers to see a use case in what is otherwise just a show-off dancing mode. I can imagine adding some vibrators in strategic areas of the car coupled with a heater to crack and remove sticking ice in the future.

This might not sound like anything great for us tropical-living Indians, but as anyone who lives through real winters will tell you; one of the most miserable parts of the day is running out of your warm house in the morning into the freezing cold to get to your car. What makes that worse is then having to spend an extra 5 minutes in the frigid outdoors scraping ice and snow off the outside of the car.

This seems like a nicer use-case for what was packaged as "Recovery" (aka bounce) mode in the Maybach GLS600 (eg. for getting out of deep sand).
