the 9E - I have a strong feeling that it will be under-tired when it hits production and that will make it ugly.

Price- They have chosen the right HW for ADAS - Mobileye. It is the industry benchmark. However, that is the very reason it is extremely expensive. It is a sure indication that these cars will be expensive. I'm not even going into the rest just yet.

If the 79 kwh battery vehicle comes with real world range of 500km and a price around 30 to 40 lakhs...then there is hope for Indian EV market. Otherwise Chinese brands like BYD will beat them in price. Byd Atto3 is already very close to these specifications. It comes with 60kwh battery between 30 and 40 lakhs on road (for states with high road tax).

If the 59kwh version with bigger inside space is priced less than that, Mahindra will have a strong contender.

And the pricing of the 79kwh version should not be more than 10 percent of the base variant.

It all comes down to pricing.

Obviously BYD and MG aren't going to silently sit and let Mahindra take over the EV space.

I see the EV race beginning in India. It will depend on pricing.

What a great pricing from Mahindra. The EV market creators are here. 59kwh at 19 BE 6E and 22 lacs for XEV 9E

The top end variants could be 4-5 lacs higher and with the features that they have showcased, it would be a great package.

I guess in one swoop they have targeted the Windsor, ZS EV, Atto3, Curvv. Even the ICE cars Creta, Harrier, Etc will be challenged.

The XEV 9E has more premium features than the BYD Seal.

Time for other car makers to up their game.

Not to nitpick but does Mahindra's and Tata's design language look very similar now? I know Pratap Bose is behind both but take the logos off and the new generations of both manufacturers look very similar.

The ex-showroom prices for BE 6E Pack One and XEV 9E Pack One are really competitive. Safety wise both get 6 air bags, Electronic parking brake, Automatic headlamps which are needed in a car costing close to ₹20 lakh ex-showroom.
