Bosch still thinks that Pure EVs will account for 70% of all cars in Europe by 2030

Bosch recently concluded its annual press conference for Q1 2024. The automotive company laid out its future roadmap, while also giving its forecast on the future of the global automotive industry.

Bosch forecasts that by 2030 nearly 70% of all new cars in Europe will be pure electric. This prediction is slightly lower in America & China, with figures ranging between 40% to 50%. In addition to this, Bosch also anticipates sales volume of hydrogen technology to be worth 5 billion euros by 2030.

Stefan Hartung, Chairman of the Board of Management, Bosch, stated, "China will likely be leading the market for the time being. We don’t expect to see major growth in Europe and North America until the next decade."

Bosch is also said to be working on an injection technology for a hydrogen engine, which will be on the road in India as early as this year.

China at 50% in 2030? they are already at 42%( BEVs +PHEVs), only BEVs will easily cross 50% in 2 years, China will reach 100% BEV by 2030, we are seeing exponential growth.

Hydrogen is a dead end, if it is H2 it has to be fuel cell, hydrogen combustion engine is very ineffecient, 87% energy is lost as heat.

Europe and China are embracing electric trucks, so no H2 trucks also.

Being the largest auto supplier in the world, Bosch ought to be taken seriously.

It must be a civilizational change going on within organisations like Bosch, Denso marking a shift from ICE to EV. Bosch currently can be found in every nook and corner of about any automobile in the world. With EVs having much less components how the world of automobiles would change, and companies like Bosch. The injection systems used by automobiles had a major, if not all, contribution by Bosch. And that's a tiny part of what Bosch is. Most of the technologies developed over a period of last 100 years would soon lose relevance.

To comply with Paris green agreement to reach at net zero emission by 2050, this milestone needs to be achieved. I think, Bosch as a major OEM supplier would know this, which was already shared by IEA long time back. So I think, it’s kind of a target for them rather than assumption.
