Re: MG Windsor EV Review

Hi Deb
The worries are different.
In the case of ICE engines, the tailpipe is the lowest and water could enter from there and cause airlock.
In the case of EVs, given that the batteries are usually IP67 - "With IP67, devices are considered water-resistant up to a depth of about 3 feet for up to 30 minutes,”, there could be other exposed electrical items and motors that might get shorted.
Also out of abundant caution, the insurers might restrict the water level to 300mm (1 feet)

Re: MG Windsor EV Review

Found this article: How electric cars handle water logged & flooded Indian roads. Let's figure out how much of this applies in case of Windsor EV.

Re: MG Windsor EV Review

Got to have small TD of the Windsor today. Have Already booked the green but white looked amazing. And black will steal the show

As everyone's mentioned the tyre noise is quiet evident in the cabin. The pickup on normal and sports is great not what I thought of on paper.

The dealers are totally clueless upon allocations. I asked them I am not adamant on color but he mentioned sir we don't have any.

Thats 2 auspicious festivities missed by a mismanaged launch.
Also, I thought the colors available were White, Black, Green, Clay/Biege
The last pic looks like grey ?

My loan is sanctioned, both cars sold and now I am just sitting like a idle duck.
If there was any other car anywhere close to Windsor in all aspects available, would cancel my booking and switch straightaway.
But even Curvv doesn't feel as good to Windsor from inside so no other options.
Just got an email from MG motors stating that the doorstep delivery of my car is tentatively scheduled in the first week of January 2025!

Yet to talk to the sales advisor, but all the goodies (and the good price too) were only for those who manage to bag the car by December, right?

I got the same email too. I am hoping this is a system generated email sent out to all bookings since people are bombarding MG on social media for an update. I spoke to the sales advisor yesterday and he still tells me a vehicle is allocated to me but they are waiting for MG to do the backend work allocating VIN etc before they can commit on a delivery date.

The charging installation team is also visiting today to do a survey and they've been told to complete all the work by 20th for a set of customers. Am hoping this list is the one that will get deliveries in the first lot.

That gives some hope. No word from the dealer on my side yet though.

In general, I have had a pretty good experience with MG Service. Something that really irritates me is to take my vehicle to the service department, 'between services' - be it any vehicle I have owned till now. I feel, the vehicle should be reliable enough to last comfortably 'between the service intervals'. My Comet has ticked this box too. So 26K kms, I would like to say with conviction - 'So far so good'

I agree with you. Maybe it is because of pedestrian safety regulations, i dont see any other reason why they would do this.

Did you folks have your Booking Status updated as well (online) or only via mail ?
Morons at MG used a random wrong email id when I purchased a Comet last year, wasn't even aware and my booking also used same wrong id.
So no communications received, got the email updated to correct one today.

Online booking status shows TBD

The online status still shows "to be updated". I called the sales advisor. He said it should not be delayed so much. He told me to keep the fund ready / loan sanctioned, so that whenever he gets cars he can allocate. Exactly as some others in this forum said.

I have asked him a quote without the insurance and including only the mats and mud flaps as accessories. That means I am taking only the car from them, not getting the loan through their channel, neither the insurance. Let's see how they go about it.

Re: MG Windsor EV Review

Prebooked in 3rd week of Sept and paid booking advance on 3rd oct early morning.

Just got the email. Mine says delivery scheduled for 5th week of Jan. My charger survey was done on 10th oct.

I'll cancel if they increase price in Jan and don't offer lifetime battery warranty.

It would make more sense to wait for new models launching in Bharat Mobility Expo next year anyway.

I don't care much about free charge.

Re: MG Windsor EV Review

Pre-booked at the dealership on 16th September and official booking was done 3rd October early morning.

Received an update from MG that tentative delivery date is 1st week of November. However, there no news from the dealer yet. Even the charger survey is also not done, although 1st week of Nov is just 3 weeks away. Extremely tepid response from the dealership!

I know someone who prebooked and got the same message and date. Might be the default date.
