You and I have the same fear regarding road tax. MH government will 100% introduce road tax on EVs as they are extremely short on funds.

I believe people are going for T Green only cuz they don't want white and black. If you had someother option I am sure it would have been the color of choice.

I dropped the idea of T Green as the color looks dull in real. White is the color to go for and clay next but I am yet to see a clay windsor.

If you get a white windsor just go for it.

Road tax or not I will cancel if they force insurance and accessories on me. I want to go with company insurance but it should be decent.

My neighbour has the black Windsor. It looks classy in my opnion but my fear is that it will be a dust magnet and secondly in summers it will heat up like anything. Anyway, the Windsor has been criticised a lot for the moon roof and AC with regards to cooling. If I get white I am dropping all the chrome accessories.

White and Black I am getting easily. The dealer said earliest by next week and latest a month.

My dealership is not forcing me for any insurance or accessories as of now. I have spoken to them multiple times regarding this and they clearly said we don't do all this. They also said many others are doing it because this is like a once in a decade scenario where a vehicle has so many bookings and the dealership has the chance to milk money. Also, the number of staff is same but the order they have to process and deliver is double, triple hence everyone wants to have a piece of the pie.

The battery drain issue got resolved

Just an update from my side, that the 4% overnight battery drain issue got resolved by itself. I think it was due to the fact that I used the scheduled charging option and it messed up some settings for my car on their server. MG was sending messages and notifications after that to refrain from using that.

One morning it got resolved and the next day we got messages to update the software containing the fix.

Zero. Even in 24 hours.

Re: MG Windsor EV Review

To all those who received their vehicle. Could you share tips and tricks for dealing with the dealership and facilitating faster delivery? Did you guys mail someone? Call customer care? Used twitter? Whatever it is, please let us know because here, even after pre-ordering the vehicle on 4th Oct, there is no estimated time or sign of delivery. Some people here have pre-ordered in September and have yet to hear any news. I have been asked to change color for faster delivery, which I don't want to, but I am actually considering it.

Re: MG Windsor EV Review

So my dealership is pretty clear that T.Green top end Essence variant will come only in January and later. Has anyone else spoken to their dealership? If yes, any clue on what will happen to the lifetime warranty on battery, 1 year free charging and introductory pricing? My dealership says that it should stay the same for pre-ordered customers but there are no guarantees.

As I posted earlier, there is no special tricks or anything. The T.green and beige are difficult to get. White and black are plenty. That's what every dealership is saying. So if start arguing with the dealer, prospects will get even lower. If you have an estimated delivery date shown in MyMG app, which is earlier than what dealer says then you can have a go with emails or twitter. Otherwise I feel its better to have a good honest conversation with SA and they may help you out with a cancelled T.green or something like that.

All the dealerships in Kolkata are quoting a waiting time of 3 months even for the White/Black Windsor Essence. So going by what you are saying, do you think I can get mine within 15-20 days?

Re: MG Windsor EV Review

That’s quite difficult to tell. At my place, they’ve more white cars available. It may be different for Kolkata. For eg., my Estimated delivery time was second week of January; my SA informed me of a white exclusive availability due to cancellation. I had to arrange the loan and remaining payment in 2 days time. One thing you can do is having a good relationship with SA and make them feel confident that you will pay full amount if car is allotted. Don’t pay full amount before the car arrives/car VIN can be personally verified.

Thanks! Yes, for the exclusive variant, they are happily obliging to get the car in 15 days tops. Will follow you advise of giving the SA the confidence that payment will be ready in full in case of cancellations

Re: MG Windsor EV Review

It’s a personal preference- but I feel exclusive variant has all the features one would need. Maybe ventilated seats is a miss. The 7.4 KWh charger is impractical for lot of households. Even I thought of buying it from someone here and later changed mind due to practical considerations

The Kolkata dealer (Southern Avenue) was quite transparent with me (unofficially). The deal was -- "take the insurance from us, get the car quickly". They said -- the car is being sold at an introductory price, if you don't take anything from us then you may have to wait. Since MG's original estimated date was several months later, I went with it. There has been no pressure on accessories.

By now the rush may have increased and even the insurance prices have been hiked. In Kolkata most people don't want to buy a white car but many like the black. If you are flexible with the color and variant (excluding the excite of course), you have a better chance of getting it soon.

Re: MG Windsor EV Review

I have a very silly question to ask the owners of Windsor (or others who may be able to help). Is there a tripmeter in Windsor that i can reset at every re-charge or at the start of a long trip etc.? I haven't been able to figure it out. On the iSmart app i can only see the total kms and the balance range. Thank you in advance!
