I see your low voltage battery is also charging. Usually when car is ON (High voltage battery is active) then it charges low voltage battery at 13.9-14volts. Once car is locked High voltage battery goes in inactive state and low voltage battery shows idle voltage of about 12.7 or near.

I think you should get firmware updated in first service, its not a big issue and easily fixable.

Thank you. Got it now. The previous screen shot was taken when car was slow charging.

Now the status shows Park brake Off and LV battery 12.7V.

WOAH! 50-60K is a lot. I was expecting it to increase to around 30K. That's more than a 3%, almost a 4% increase. The 1% TCS will also go up now and so will the insurance.

In my case, the BE6 blew my mind with what I saw on paper. It's an incredible machine and the test videos of battery, fire, crash, suspension are good. The specs are superb for the price. But I knew that to get a usable variant I will have to shell 23L and above on road which is 7L more than the Windsor top end and the Windsor at 16.5 on road fulfils all my needs.

Now I can put in 23L for the amazingly speced out car they are offering but then I don't trust M&M with my hard earned money. I have heard many of my neighbours have horrible experiences with M&M dealerships and after sales service plus the fit and finish issues. So the trust factor was on the lower side. Also, an EV has a lot of electricals which I am not ready to trust M&M service centers with. Believe me, an EV with poor service is like banging your head on a wall. Just see what OLA scooter users are going through. One of the reasons I spent more and got an Ather 450X at the time.

Also, the usage matters. I wanted a family car for city driving mostly and an occasional outstation. The Windsor gives me great rear seat space and comfort, good boot space. Yes, the 50KWH battery would have been a plus but it's fine in my case as its mostly city driving. My preference was a compact car with space. The Windsor just delivers that. The 6E is slightly big with less space in the rear but it looks pretty damn stylish. I hope the Be6 delivers on every front and changes my opinion about M&M but I don't spend my money now on M&M and be a beta tester of their vehicle or the dealership/service experience.

I spent 20K for the ceramic coating and it has 3 year warranty with 2 add on coats. So every 6 months or every year the last coat will be applied as an add on.

I am just glad I bought it before the price hike. For 50-60K extra, I don't think I would have taken the Windsor in Jan. I would have waited for Bharat mobility expo announcements and purchased it in March with some discounts or would have purchased another EV.

Re: MG Windsor EV Review

Hi folks. How are you all doing with regards to aftermarket accessories. In Ahmedabad I am struggling to get things like window shades, steering cover etc. The ones being supplied by MG don't appeal to me. I managed to get the foot mats after searching a bit.

The glass windows are absolutely gorgeous but at the same time they are a big problem with privacy and heat!

Re: MG Windsor EV Review

JSW MG Motor India has hiked the prices of its Windsor EV by Rs 50,000 across all variants, discontinuing the introductory pricing and free charging benefits.

When the Windsor EV was launched, the company had stated that introductory prices would be valid until either 10,000 units were delivered or December 31, 2024. Coincidentally, the milestone of 10,000 units sold was achieved in December itself.

The electric vehicle now starts at Rs 13.99 lakh for the base Excite variant, while the mid-spec Exclusive trim is priced at Rs 14.99 lakh. The top-spec Essence variant is now available for Rs 15.99 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.

The free charging offer, which allowed early buyers to charge their vehicles at no cost through the MG e-hub application, is no longer available for new customers. This app, known for integrating charging stations from multiple operators into one platform, was part of MG's introductory benefits for buyers who took delivery by December 31, 2024.

Despite these changes, MG continues to offer a lifetime warranty on the Windsor EV's battery for the first owner, with subsequent owners receiving a warranty of eight years or 1,60,000 km.

When I took delivery in Oct 2024, I found no accessories for Windsor in aftermarket mainly due to fact that it is a newly launched model.

I am surprised even after 2 months no accessories are available specific to Windsor in aftermarket. Now after all these time except for Sunfilm to block all the heat coming in from the beautiful windows, I see no need for any more accessories.

Apart from Sunfilm I have installed official MG Mattings. That's it no other accessories.

A had a bad experience with Window shades. The ones that are available have a metal frame all around and this metal frame rubs with window frame and chips the paint and causes rusting. We are better off with Sunfilm.

Windsor already has leather wrapped steering wheel & seats in exclusive and essence variants, so IMHO steering cover & seat covers are not needed. Rest basic accessories like neck pillow are available.

I test drove the vehicle and did pillon riding, didn't face any such challenges. I knowingly did this for more than an hour. Now I am more curious to know if this happens in particular setting/temprature/humidity et al? The suspension felt really perfect for city ride, though they might not be as hard for a high way cruiser, but I am expecting this car to be driven within the city for 95% of the times

Thanks, so I guess sunfilm is the only potential option right now. Just that the privacy with those large windows is really challenging especially at all cross roads with vendors and beggars.

Re: MG Windsor EV Review

I just got a call this morning from my dealer in E-City in Bangalore stating that we have White and Turquoise available, however I have booked for a Black one, and they say if you confirm we can allot the vehicle to you. Black might take longer. The timing is so bad, on the day of price hike I'm getting the allotment.
I'm not sure if this is just because of the cancellations due to the price hike or just a coincidence.
I have made the booking on 6th Nov for Black Essence variant.
Not want to go with White. Turquoise although is a good colour but having NEXON EV with similar colour (Teal Blue) was making me keep distance from this colour. I guess i will have to settle for Turquoise.
Price hike + Missing on free charging: These are the two setbacks I'm having by a very slight margin.
Thoughts please. Should I wait for the Auto expo, or go ahead with what I have on my plate.

If you don't need a car, wait for the expo and see the vehicles that are launching with their pricing. The expo vehicles are all slated for the March delivery. So, the Windsor price will move around a bit in March. I doubt there will be any pricing decrease this month unless MG does what most people in this forum have been discussing; the launch of the 50KWH version for 17-17.5L ex showroom. If you can wait till March it would be great else just wait till the expo and then take a call. I was juggling between T.Green and White. Finally, I got T.Green and it looks quite amazing.

How much did you get the sunfilm for? and did you apply it to the entire car or just selected windows?

If you like the Creta EV, I suggest waiting for its price reveal.

However going for that would mean a few months wait I imagine. Also most folks expect it to be priced significantly higher than Windsor but you never know.

Windsor is a pretty good car to go with as long as you know all the pros and cons.

Yeah, for that there is a nifty little hack. It may not work in heavy traffic. Whenever you come to a traffic stop, leave at least 0.5 to 1 car length space between your car and front car. When beggars and vendors knock your car, just drive forward in to that empty space and they'll leave you alone. Works 99% of the time.

If you are not in hurry to get the car, I would also suggest waiting atleast till Auto Expo and price releases of upcoming EVs and then take a call.

All the windows! 2600 for each window would be too much expensive except if it is some brand like 3M and you are getting fully transparent films with high heat rejection. I got 50% transparency film with 70% heat rejection.

So this happened a few minutes ago. I have heard the charger has to be purchased separately. Now i don’t know if pack 1 or the base variant will be as appealing as the top end Windsor in terms of value for money. Yes, the battery, autopark and other things might be attractive but I am yet to see if it will be a buyable variant. On the other hand the top end is priced quite steep in my opinion. I would rather go for the more proven BYD Atto 3 at this price.
