Re: Tata Nexon.ev launched with a larger 45 kWh battery; 489 km range

Anyone with the Nexon 45 (actually it’s a 46.08kw battery pack)

Have you been able to test peak DC charging speeds on a 60KW charger. I am unable to find any information online or via YouTube. Just don’t want to take Tatas claim on it.

I have done that! On a 80Kw charger it goes upto 50kw charger, when charging from 60% SoC.(first photo)

On a 120Kw charger, again charging from some 40%, it went full 60KW(second Photo). You will need to zoom in a bit to see it.

Thank Jazzybala. Using the Tiago Ev for last 2 years and I’m seriously considering this car. 60KW of peak dc speeds is pretty good for highway tripping. Pleasing within south India.

Zeon has shared their test results on Nexon 45 on their social media handles

My Nexon EV did 7500 kms and went for its second service. They changed the trans axle fluid and the cost of service was 1800 rs. I also second all the pros and cons Strataptor suggested especially this

And the suspension is pretty impressive

Almost finalising on the Nexon 45 empowered+ 2024 stock.

On road @ 16.4L + Insurance (36k approx)

Getting the pricing due to the latest loyalty offers. Planning to keep the tiago ev as my wife runabout. It’s fetching abysmal resale value anyway.

Test driving tomorrow and will make a decision.

Made the decision guys. Booked the Oxide shade empowered+ 45, I got additional 10k off speaking to the GM and expressing my Tata loyalty since 2017.

So total damages 16.3L+insurance.

Fingers crossed before I do the PDI by next week.

Congratulations on the new car! I believe the 45 version should be an easy 300km range car. Also the faster charging speeds will greatly help. However Tata definitely needs to rethink their illogical 6 month service intervals.

Would you know what kind of discounts were in place for lesser versions?

Hi Jazzy
Zooming in on the second pic, your VIN appears to be clearly visible as well.

Re: Tata Nexon.ev launched with a larger 45 kWh battery; 489 km range

Can anyone tell me if this 45 KWH battery version has floor height raised compared to 30KWH version. The floor height was raised and hence lesser leg space in the evMax version launched earlier.

It’s the same as the 40.5KW LR version. I haven’t sat in the 30kw version that may be similar to the ICE Nexon I suppose.

Re: Tata Nexon.ev launched with a larger 45 kWh battery; 489 km range

Update

I have been driving my new nexon 45 EP+ for over a week, the whkm is a nasty 150-160 in the bangalore traffic However, after my first charge cycle, I got a change to drive from my home to office on the infamous Bangalore ORR, this was at around 7AM when the traffic is a lot less dense, I managed a cool 99whkm on the 20km run with a bit of hypermiling with Ac 50% on.

Re: Tata Nexon.ev launched with a larger 45 kWh battery; 489 km range

A range update on my Nexon EV 45.

I went through 3 (well actually 2.5 charge cycles) over the past 3 weeks.
The usage is primarily within the city, but has usage of Eastern and Western Express Highway in Mumbai against the traffic so a bit of highway use too.

Time taken for commute for reference:
BKC: 11 kms in 30-40 mins
Andheri: 17 kms in 1 hr 10 mins/ 27 kms in 1 hr 15 mins (depending on the route)

Data was taken from the iRA app, which I do believe overstates the distance run. Hence, have taken the range with a 5% or 10% drop too.

Kindly note that I was taking the longer route in Charge Cycle 1, probably leading to the better efficiency.

1. Charge Cycle 1
135kms run, battery consumed was 36%. Range comes to 375kms

2. Charge Cycle 2
289.3 kms run, battery consumed was 81%. Range comes to 357.2 kms.

3. Charge Cycle 3
296.1 kms run, battery consumed was 89%. Range comes to 332.7 kms.

I've also attached the average range in the pic below. Therefore the range comes to somewhere between 319.5 kms and 350.0 kms.

Also kindly note that there was a heatwave with high ambient temperatures (going upto 40 degrees) during Charge Cycle 3.

Quite satisfied with the range.
The driving was done in City Mode with Regen 2.

P.S. also got a flat tyre this week, thank God for the spare tyre unlike the Punch.EV
The spare tyre has a 80kmph speed limit. Considering that the tyre is the exact same size, does the speed limit actually apply?

Re: Tata Nexon.ev launched with a larger 45 kWh battery; 489 km range

Good evening BHPians, I am close to paying the deposit for Nexon 45 Empowered+ . I am at that stage of the booking where I have to finalize the colour. But in my case the interior colour is going to be a very big deciding factor.

Wanted to know from you all as to how easy it is to maintain the light coloured interior? Can simple stains be easily washed off? or is it advisable to go for Red Dark? Thanks
