Re: October 2024: Electric Four Wheeler Sales Figures & Analysis

The EV sales doubled in Oct, not sure what led to the spike. But what surprised me the most is the Rolls Royce. Did Rolls Royce sell 3 electric cars in one month? That's staggering to say the least! As far as I know, Spectre is the only electric Rolls Royce currently available on sale in India and selling 3 units of a model that costs ~8cr in a month is no joke!

Interestingly, Windsor is bucking the trend with it’s measly battery pack, making it strictly a city car despite the fact that everything else in terms of dimensions and pliant ride make it good for intercity.

Can be mostly attributed to festive season in October (Dhanteras delivery promises)

Further, both curvv and Windsor launched during pitra paksh where (religious) people usually do not purchase big items like houses or cars

Didn't see Citroen E-C3. Sorry, if I missed it in the discussions above.

Is it not included in the list, as it didn't sell even a single unit last month?

I believe the PCA automobiles in the list is Citroen. The only Stellantis or PSA EV on sale.

Yes I agree with you wholeheartedly.

I seriously considered the Ioniq5 because I just loved its looks, functionality, range and other positives. But it is indeed a very expensive car. Somehow Im not able to bring myself to go for cars which cost so much, though perhaps I might do so one day, from the used market.

But it is honestly, (as per my view), far too large for a tight squeeze city like Bangalore with the narrow roads we have. Also, while it is great for highway tripping, I don't want any more, a wider car than absolutely necessary, for my drives up to the nearby hill stations.

That’s why as I have remarked earlier, if they had brought something like a scaled down Ioniq3, I’d have grabbed one.

And that is also why, the Kona represented an absolutely superbly sized and proportioned product and a real value for money package, when I considered my own personal need and want state.

Indeed it is a pity that Hyundai didn't bring us the bigger battery pack in the Kona and also chose not to launch newer versions here in India.
