Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

Had a test drive yesterday. Fantastic job by Mahindra. ZS Ev’s sport mode = XEV’s normal mode. A light deep tap on the accelerator and you can feel getting pushed back in the seats. This was in normal mode. Very spacious front seats. White seats tend to get dirty soon and owners should be ready to bear additional cleaning costs during service.

Good thigh support, no knees up position (I am 5 feet 10 inches tall) and enough head room in the rear seat. Felt the three screens are little too much. SA confirmed unofficial bookings are around 250 in my city.

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

Does anyone have any details on the recommended service intervals for this car?

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

So much for Pack 1 and Pack 2 as top-seller projections.

73% of bookings are for Pack 3 across both variants.

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

Wow! Talk about arriving with a bang! Mahindra is here to make more than a dent, with a a Billion Dollar order book! Unless the Sierra EV and the eVitara make a big splash (questionable probability), I don't see many cancellations happening.

If this is not the usual marketing trick by Mahindra, then we’re already looking at 6-8 months waiting period. I think the production capacity is ~ 5000 units per month.

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

Went to nearby Mahindra showroom for test drive, the test drives are not available due to some issue in the vehicle according to the sales person.

Checked the display vehicle, also compared with XUV700, here are my observations.

1) The ingress to driver seat is horrible, you cannot get into the front seats without bending your neck significantly. XUV700 does not have this issue, the seat position is similar in both cars.
2) The back seats are fine which can easily fit 3 adults , under thigh support is very similar to XUV700 2nd row seats.
3) Very large Frunk, can easily fit a cabin size suitcase.
4) The battery is nicely integrated.

Depth at 2nd row seat for XUV700, measured with my scooter key.

This does not indicate low interest in the lower variants. Of course day 1 booking will be for the variant they have said is available with a firm delivery date. The other variants no one has seen even in pics or videos till now, and the delivery date (I should rather say launch date since they haven't been shown yet) is months away.

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

Has any one checked the efficiency of the vehicles. The range depends on that. Two times I took test drive, in both the times I got only the demo vehicle which had poor range.
I see that the efficiency display km/kv. To get 500+ we need at 6+km/kv.

To join the queue I have made the booking but without the range check I'm not fully sold to the vehicle.

I have dilemma between pack 3 and pack 2. Pack 2 almost has all that is required for indian road and the luxury that we can get pampered with. But the price is introductory, would mahindra lock the price upto 6 months for pack2? A 10K increase in ex showroom will attrach 10% tax in Karnataka. Thats a real deal breaker for me.

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

Booked XEV 9e in Red Pack 3 by 9.01 am
And XEV 9e in White Pack 3 by 9.04 am
Booked with 2 different Dealers. Let's see.
Have a Thar ROXX 4x4 AT top trim delivery date promised between Feb 25th and Mar 25th. Will mostly cancel it in favour of XEV 9e.

There may similarly be many overlapping bookings by many individuals.

Ah you too are unsure about the colour still. I too booked red and white at two different dealers but have modified the red one to white at around 4 PM. My booking id is the same still though.

I am confused between white, red and blue.

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

Is there any info on warranty of car parts other than the battery and is it extendable? Also they mention lifetime warranty on battery only on individual registration - what about company registration? This car comes with 5g capabilities with built in SIM- so i don't need to connect my smartphone to use apps like google maps and youtube? What about the subscription charges of the sim?

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

A general question - why haven't we seen a range test of XEV 9e yet?

Even the BYD Sealion 7 that was officially launched today has a 100%-0% range test (a couple of those actually), however, even after 4 months of launch, there is no video detailing the range test of Mahindra twins.

All the preliminary reports kept claiming that it could easily cover 500 km on a single charge. However, when I drove the car, I found it to be more of a 420-440km range car than a 500 km range car. I tried contacting the showroom for a range test but was constantly denied. Not sure why prominent reviewers haven't been able to get the car for range test yet!
