Delhi has zero road tax but registration with hypothecation is around 5700 as per the dealer price list.

What is the best these days? Fixed interest rate or floating interest rate or reducing interest rate?

I have got a loan approval at 8.95% fixed rate from HDFC even though my CIBIL is 792. Could you please help me out with a contact at Union Bank or guide me through the process of getting a loan through them?

My dealership’s finance person is pushing for HDFC as a pre approved offer was already and because I do not have form 16s or ITR for 2022-23 but everything else is in order. Can anyone please confirm if form 16 or ITR from 2 years back is really that mandatory?
For Delhi, no one knows for sure. I personally expect the EV policy to not be renewed for passenger vehicles after 31st March. Remember, the subsidies including the road tax waiver was stopped for a few months in Oct-Dec. AAP had reinstated it from 1st Jan onwards, with AAP mentioning that it was stopped by BJP when Kejriwal was in jail (not sure if that is true, but that's what they announced in a press conference. https://www.thehindu.com/news/cities...le68922320.ece). Now, with BJP winning the Delhi elections, I think they will roll it back again or bring in their own version of it. Note that this is not a policital post but my understanding of it and maybe someone in the know how or more knowledgeable can confirm. This is one of the reasons I am keen to take delivery in the first lot within this month.

Fixed and reducing rate loans would generally come at a premium. Interest rates right now are low, but not the lowest. This again depends on if you think the rates will go down or up from here.

On the documents, yes. Private banks generally offer a higher rate than others. However, they are also more willing to underwrite loans with lesser traditional documents available. I was getting around 8.9/9 quote from private banks, but as I am salaried, I prefer non-private ones which offer better rates. The service, however, leaves much to be desired.

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

The ROI offered by NKGSB Bank in Mumbai seems to be lowest imo- 8.40% floating for EVs. Floating rate currently makes sense as rates are anticipated to go lower.
Also, wanted to know if the Income Tax Deduction of INR 1.5 lakhs is still available on purhcase of EVs?

Where do you see this 15% subsidy in Gurgaon/Faridabad/Haryana? Everywhere I have been told there's 75% discount on road tax but other subsidy in Haryana. For Delhi registration. theres a flat fee of around ~5000.

I am attaching the screenshots I took of Kristan Auto’s (BYD Gurgaon) advertisements on instagram.

The first screenshot is from Jan 2025 while the second one is from December 2024. AFAIK only BYD Gurgaon is offering this and not other EV brands in Gurgaon and its also only for limited units.

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

As far as I know, the Haryana applicable subsidy works only if Ex showroom price is greater than 40L. Hence, BYD Seal and Sealion can use that but not XEV/BE.

SA at Automotive Mahindra, Hyderabad told me yesterday that only limited allotment has happened and deliveries are planned in two batches, 12th and 15th of March.

No information on 20” wheels yet is what he mentioned.

My SA said that they were planning deliveries for 10th March but delayed slightly to ETA 16th March because Mahindra guys have come and are updating all the cars slowly and is taking time - 10 cars at a time 4 hours each software update.
He also asked me to make a deposit to "hold my chassis" and start the charger inspection process. Not sure what to make of this since my loan isn't even approved yet.

What alternative would you guys suggest? The cheapest 11kw I can find on Amazon is from a company Strompuls for 30k. Doesnt say ARAI certified though.

I am not so sure, they have mentioned very specific cases only. it does not look like it applies to all customers as a choice.

Re: Mahindra XEV 9e Review

Big update: Warranty terms are now updated and as per latest warranty TnCs, unlimited KMs battery warranty can be availed by:
(i) private individual registration
(ii) private registrations in the name of body corporates, firms, trusts, etc., provided the vehicle is for personal individual use only; and
(iii) registration of vehicles under a company CTC vehicle scheme for its employees, including after transfer of the CTC vehicle to the employee, provided the transfer is to the same employee.

This is wonderful news!

The earlier warranty terms only allowed private individual registration to avail unlimited KMs of battery warranty.
