Do keep us posted here on the final solution. Its my understanding that this is an error a lot of owners are experiencing and so many who aren't on TBHP.

Yes, this is exactly what I observed yesterday when the technician was logging the report—there were multiple reports of this same issue already present on Mahindra TekNet. This clearly indicates that it's a known and reported issue, and Mahindra has diagnostic guidelines already available for it.

As of now, the technician:
  • Cleaned the connectors of the adaptive suspension system
  • Cleaned the Front Zonal ECU connectors
  • Reset all systems and reassembled everything
Since I wasn’t in a position to leave the car at the ASC overnight due to prior commitments, we didn't proceed with the extended diagnostic steps. Just took all the basic readings from the components and logged it in their report. However, I did ask them to make a note of the issue in their system.

I’ll be keeping a close eye on it and will report back immediately if the warning light comes up again or if it becomes a recurring issue.

Re: Mahindra BE 6 Review

I got an update on the issue that a owner of a BE6 faced @slightlymadness. If you had not read my previous post. The issue he faced was his screen turning off and on every 30seconds. It was resolved it was due to a loose cable. He got the worst customer care. He had sent a complaint, and Mahindra has taken action. Now he is pleased and has his car back without any errors.

Here is the video he posted:

Later on, I switched this option off and on again. Lo and behold, right side mirror started dipping and un-dipping but the left is not budging a bit after dipping.
Update: service centre CRM sent their EV technicians today and they resolved the side mirror issue. It only took him some 30 odd seconds to rectify it. Per him, there was some learning/sync issue with the mirror. He mentioned that this happens, sometimes, after an update. I was so ecstatic that I didn’t remember that my car had latest update prior to the service itself and couldn’t question him further.

I have not received suspension warning after Sunday.

Re: Mahindra BE 6 Review

Has anyone seen this 'Ready to Drive' icon show up while driving? On my vehicle, this green icon stays on all the time — even when I'm already in motion.

Mahindra BE 6 Review-readytodriveiconzoomed.jpg

I checked the online manual, and it says:

Mahindra BE 6 Review-vehmanualsnip.png

The same information via the app:

Mahindra BE 6 Review-readytodriveiconapp.jpg

The English is a bit unclear in the messages as both seem to contradict each other - is the icon expected to stay ON or OFF while driving?

Anyone idea if this is a cause for concern? Is it something critical, or safe to ignore for now?

It is expected to stay On.
Also since it is a green colour symbol, i don't think it signifies a warning or error.

What insurance add-ons has everyone opted for? Can we maybe pin a post for the add-ons that we MUST opt for?

1. Secure 360 on app not working. Only a blank screen
2. Lock and unlock automatic on arrival and departure from vehicle(PKE) not working
3. Keyfob forward and back
3. Auto park from keyfob and mobile phone
4. Pawpal feature no where to be found
5. User profiles ( cant find the section to add user profiles and seat setting to a particular*profile).
6. NFC card not issued & NFC lock & unlock function not enabled.(Althought only listed as standard on xev9e broucher)
7. Driver monitor [Eyedentity] system non functional. Hardware is working fine. Its a software glitch
8. Central console ambient lights not working(Around the key slot, start stop button and joystick). All other ambient lights work. Failed to notice this in PDI because Ipersonally didn't even know it existed until I stumbled upon a pic online.
9. warranty listed as expired on Me4U app
10. store app not working on Central display
11. no option to uninstall unnecessary apps from the entertainment section as per user (like swiggy and tv9 gujarathi). Not an issue, just something if have liked.

The car is an absolute dream to drive and a definitely ite headturner. No critical errors so far atleast and hence no issue with usability.

I have sent the list from above to my SA and he has raised a request to rectify these asap and has even assured me that I'll not need to go to the service center and instead he will get the service team and engineer on site to rectify the issue. The only thing that may not be resolved via a software update is the console ambient lights which he said if unresolved via software update will be replaced under warranty.

I didn't see any panel gaps or paint issues on my car(on pdi and delivery). Central console piano black bits very scratched up( wasn't there on pdi but on previous day of delivery someone probably used a dirty rag to wipe it) . SA did get them to buff out most of these scratches to his credit.

It's high time I posted a follow up to my above post.
Its been a few months since my March delivery and am nearing 10k on my odo, so here is my experience so far.

Firstly, I will reiterate that I am extremely satisfied with the overall ownership of the car and I believe Mahindra has developed an exceptional product overall and the BE6 is worth every penny paid. Next, I'd like to commend the brand for trying to improve the service experience and how the team ( atleast in Bangalore) is dealing with service center visits.( I have had a few too many only because I am obsessed with the car and can't wait until the next service interval). It may not be perfect but the effort is appreciable.

Now to address the issues I mentioned earlier.
1. Secure 360 on app:
This was solved in a few days after a call to the customer care with no further intervention from my side.

2. Lock and unlock on arrival and departure(PKE) not working:
Still a WIP. I believe the update for this is close although I don't understand why it has to be something that needs an update when brands like keydroid provide similar aftermarket solutions. I'd assume and hope that it is to improve safety.

3. Keyfob forward and back:
It was just my lack of understanding of the procedures to use this and its limitations.

4. Auto park from keyfob and mobile phone:
same as above point 3.

5. Missing pawpal feature:
WIP & now rumored to be a subscription.

5.Missing user profiles :
WIP & high time they delivered

6. NFC card & NFC lock & unlock function.:
Still no clarity on this.

7. Eyedentity system non functional:
Still not resolved in my car. I did start getting Gadget use warnings but nothing else. It's my understanding that this is very badly implemented, with some owners getting false warnings or excessive warnings and some not getting any. Unfortunately, this is something even SC technicians and managers seem to have bullshit answers for, like the instance where my service manager stated with superior confidence that the feature has been removed by Mahindra when the toggle for the same was removed with the carplay update. She reasoned that since many users were facing issues, Mahindra had decided to remove the feature and when I called her out on the misinformation, she told me she would get back to me.

8. Central console ambient lights:
The service manager & cotek initially argued there were no lights present there since their demo car also didn't have them, but on my insistence, they connected with engineers from Mahindra and on their guidance, they were able to enable it in a matter of seconds using their computer.

9. Warranty listed as expired on Me4U app:
Now updated on the app and shows as Active.

10. store app not working on Central display :
WIP. The store works but is limited in functionality.

11. No option to uninstall unnecessary apps from the Fun& Entertainment app(like swiggy and tv9 gujarathi):
Not an issue, just something that would have been nice to have & still the same as the day of delivery.

Moving on,
Stuff that broke in my car since.
(Also includes stuff I assumed was broken leading me to visit the SC)

Reverse to Dip feature:
It wasn't broken but I learnt that it required manual learning and needs to be assigned to memory seat function.

Exterior door cladding that scraped against each other:
When the car was parked out in the heat, the claddings expanded and hit each other on opening the doors. This was resolved by realignment of doors. It took about 10 to 15 mins . Infact, this is a known issue and they have received a circular to fix the issue.

LV battery and ground wire recall:
Received a call to bring in the car asap as part of a recall. I personally hadn't faced any issues with this. The ground wire was replaced but the LV battery wasn't as they stated it wasn't defective.

Replaced wheel cap:
One of the caps that cover the wheel nuts was rattling and was replaced after multiple attempts to fix it. The issue is resolved.

Replaced door handle motor unit:
The very next day after receiving my car from the carplay update, my driver side door handle would no longer pop out on unlock. Immediately visited the SC. They proceeded to try and fix it, first by checking for any error codes & then to dismantle the interior door panel, remove all the foam insulation, and get the handle unit out. On inspection they couldn't find any issue or broken parts. This is where things went south. They told me that the part needs to be ordered and replaced and for now they will fix the door back and hand over the car. But the technicians clearly lacked the training on how to fix everything back and took hours to get everything in its place. On top of all this, they managed to lose clips, tear the foam insulation. The result was a rattle from inside the door that persisted until the part arrived 15 odd days later. I raised a complaint regarding this and was almost gaslit by the Service manager saying these things happen, clips and stuff will get damaged and nothing can be done & that if I raise complaints the technicians will not be willing to work on my car. I insisted that the clips and insulation be replaced with brand new parts and I will not accept any 'jugaad' solution. They kept saying these things happen and the insulation is not really needed. This was very disappointing. But eventually it all ended well , when the Mahindra customer care got involved and got it fixed as per spec with assurance to even replace the door entirely if I was not satisfied with the repair job. Special mention to Mr.Roshan( mahindra) Mr. Manju(technician) and Miss Jyothi who got the repair done to my satisfaction.

Broken ORVM indicator:
The passenger side ORVM indicator has developed minor fractures and has water inside. On inspection, they blamed it on the PPF process but it's not the case. The issue only appeared in the month of May while the PPF process was completed in March. I was in no mood to argue and agreed to pay for the part. The total cost of the part is apparently around 900 odd rupees and I am currently waiting for the part to arrive.

Random suspension amber telltale:
I have had the suspension warning appear a few times and disappear on restart. Haven't noticed any suspension behaviour change when this appears.

Coolant Malfunction Error:
Received this error once and it disappeared as quickly as it appeared.

Random service reminders:
This too appears at very random intervals. The service reminders stay on until restart, sometimes reappearing with consecutive drives. Again, this personally hasn't had any impact on vehicle behaviour.

Juddering wiper blades:
My wiper blades judder and leave large patches unwiped. Although I’d like to bring this to the attention of my service manager and push to get it replaced under warranty, I have chosen the path of peace and calm and will visit a nearby Shell outlet and get it replaced with BOSCH blades when I find time.

Steering Haptic button not working
The right side buttons on my steering stopped working and on visiting the SC, two engineers from Mahindra removed the unit, dismantled it, stuck some sort of fabric tape on to the metal contacts, updated some firmwares and the issue was resolved. They explained that the initial batch of vehicles shipped with the module that was prone to this failure and later usits were rectified via the vendor.

Stuff that grinds my gears.

1. The random creaks and crackles from the dashboard on rough patches of roads. I wish the fit and finish was slightly better for a more luxurious feel inside the car.

2. Incessant squeaking of the driver seat.I am not sure what this is caused by, but it drives me crazy. The driver side seat just refuses to stop squeaking and groaning. Not sure if I am too fat or if the seat is bad. I brought this up with the SC during my last visit, and for a day after receiving my car back the noise was cut down if not gone, but has reappeared since then. I can't believe a 30L car has squeaky seats when my 2018 swift didn't. I will definitely bring this up again during my next visit to the SC.

3. Overly complicated processes for stuff like the accessories, i.e, the illuminated scuff plate that require an activation using a computer, the boot scuff plate that requires relearning of the boot door failing which the door will not close. Just WHY!!! I get scared to even think if something critical broke over the years.

4.What was promised needs to be delivered on delivery. Mahindra should have waited until everything that was promised to be ready before delivery. I hate the fact that I paid full price for stuff when they only partially delivered, for ex. user profiles, PKE, Pawpal, Keep cool ( or whatever that was named), revive mode, NFC cards, sentry mode, dashcam features( if even available) , OTA updates and whatever else I have forgotten to mention here.

5.Better use of the button on the right side stalk. Hear me out here, I feel a better utilization of the button that controls the fog lamps would be to control the headlamp flash. Assuming we have the headlights on Auto with auto dimming (high beam stalk position), everytime I need to flash my lights, we need to pull the stalk to low beam position and then to the flashing position( pull towards steering) and then again return it to the high beam position to resume auto low beam feature. Since fog lamps are a one time operation during the drive, I think the button should have been mapped to flashing instead making our life easier ( I know I am nitpicking here, but it grinds my gears nevertheless.)

6.Better use of the Intelli Control Center (ICC) joystick. The fact that I can't use the joystick function on the homescreen and app screen is just annoying. If i have to revert to the touchscreen partially, I might as well use the touch screen. I wish it worked across the entire UI,Including android auto.

7.Range mode showing lesser range than default mode. Just why! I have had so many people ask me this and I fail to answer them always.

8.The damn disclaimer that can neither be closed, confirmed or avoided. The time out needs to be shorter or give us an accept/confirm button like every other manufacturer.

9.The cabin light that is linked to open doors that needs to be turned on each time.

10. Inablity to view the menu options on DID when the ultra sonic proximity sensors are detecting something. Usually at traffic signals when other cars and bikes are around, it doesnt let us go to nay other menu like navigation or drive assist or even trip meters.

Now let's talk about the stuff I love about the car
(stuff that is worth the extra mention)

1. Power & driving dynamics: Would be criminal to not mention this

2. Design of the Be6. It is unlike anything on the road today.

3. Booster lamps: Driving around in Coorg, where street lights are a luxury, the booster lamps that turn on over 70kmph is a feature I can't stop appreciating.

4. Audio Setup : I have fallen in love with how the system sounds, especially post the carplay update (not sure if its placebo or if any real improvements happen). It is just amazing now and I have fallen in love with some songs all over again.

5. HUD: The implementation is amazing and quite useful. I love the fact that it can display navigation info from android auto too.

6. Ground clearance : It's something that we take for granted but for someone who also drives cars that often bottoms out on the interior estate roads of Coorg, this is as good as driving my jeep. Go anywhere and never worry.

7. Noise insulation inside the car. I sometimes roll down my window only to make sure that the traffic outside is actually noisy.

Stuff that I wish Mahindra gives us in the future
(Wishful Thinking)

1. Remove the limiter at 202kmph & give us a top speed of 230-240 atleast. Not saying I need it, but would not harm to have.

2. Ability to customize the scroll text on the rear lights( Unlimit India). I know this may backfire if not done right with people abusing it, but I think it would be fun if done right.

3. Give us a UI for amazon music that Alexa/Maia plays music from. Gaana is terrible with their library.

4. Ability to customise power delivery/suspension setup. (Custom Drive mode)

In all , love the car and am very happy with my decision to pick this over the Tata Curvv or the Creta. I may have missed out on some stuff above and if and when i remember I will update accordingy.

So does the car remember the setting to turn on cabin lights when doors open? And you don't have to use the over head switch each time?

The manual is right, the tool-tip in the app is wrong.
That is the "ON" equivalent, and is supposed to stay on through the duration of the drive.

Illuminated Scuff Plate & Boot Scuff Plate - are part of accessories sold by Mahindra.

Illuminated Scuff Plates are replacements for the default scuff plates provided by manufacturer (the bottom portion of the step out area when you open the door). As the name suggests, they glow when you open the door (unlike the default ones provided).

Boot scuff plate is not illuminated, it is just replacement for the plastic scuff plate.. and it just enhances the look with some chrome plating

Booster lamps is the feature of the car.. apparently one extra headlight, that will glow on its own after a specific speed, to give you more visibility at higher speeds.
