A recent trademark filing by Mahindra suggests that the electric version of the XUV700 could be called the XEV 7e.



The XEV 7e will be a non-coupe version of the XEV 9e, and as the latest leaked images suggest, its overall design will be similar to the XUV700. While the bodyshell looks identical, the front fascia will be inspired by Mahindra’s pure-electric line-up.



The XEV 7e has vertically stacked LED headlamps with L-shaped LED DRLs connected by an LED light bar. The grille will be replaced with a blank fascia featuring an illuminated logo in the centre.



The rear end has a more familiar design with L-shaped taillights and black trim in the centre. The XEV 7e also gets a panoramic sunroof, a powered tailgate, black alloy wheels and ORVMs.



Inside, the XEV 7e will get the same dashboard as the XEV 9e. It has a triple-screen layout and a 2-spoke steering wheel. Moreover, the XEV 7e will have 3-row seating with captain seats in the second row.



As per the leaked images, the XEV 7e could be offered in a dual-motor configuration with multiple traction modes.

This is a really confusing nomenclature. Especially if 7e is priced higher than 9e.

Mahindra should instead use C as a suffix for electric coupe. S as a suffix for electric SUVs and E as a suffix for other electric vehicles.

So this way, 6c and 9c are electric coupe and 7s is an electric SUV.

7e will be cheaper I think, the SUV versions are generally cheaper than the respective coupe versions.

Also for BMW, the coupe version uses a higher number (X5 vs X6, X3 vs X4 etc).

I hope they offer a bench option as well, given the low demand they have been seeing for the ICE version.

I am not sure what was the rational to launch 9e instead of 7e in first place, when public at large will appreciate 7e when compared to 9e (or may be its my wishful thinking).

Any thoughts if coupe version has too big an advantage in terms of range over SUV design, due to aerodynamics.

As per all the reports till now, it will be based on the INGLO platform.

Guess the XUV400 and upcoming XUV300 EV (?) will be the last Mahindras with an ICE to BEV converted platform. The upcoming NFC platform is said to be designed with BEV versions in mind, though guess that would be FWD and have a central tunnel too.

Why can't Mahindra just give their vehicles normal names?

With so many launches happening, people might get confused by their naming conventions. They could have just called it the XUV 700e or XEV 700.

Looks difficult. Assuming the XEV 9E tops out at 29L for larger battery pack, the OTR price would be somewhere around 31L. Considering the XUV700 D AT AX7L costs the same, I don't think Mahindra would be able to undercut the ICE XUV with the EV. If that happens won't it be the first of its kind !

Based on the image with charging indicator, range looks sub 350( Range left with 16% charging or Charged 16% with additon of 52 KMS).

I guess the bigger 92% number is the actual range. 16% could be how much the battery was topped up in last charge (considering last charge is mentioned at the extreme left)

Mahindra XEV 7E will get an even more powerful electric powertrain than its recently launched sibling. It has been reported that the XEV 7E will get a dual motor setup capable of producing 350 bhp and 450 Nm of torque.

Most likely, the XEV 7E will be priced higher than the XEV 9E due to this powertrain upgrade.

The XEV 7E will sit below the recently unveiled XEV 9E and will boast a much more familiar full-size SUV silhouette, unlike the XEV 9E’s sloping coupe-like roofline.

Images of Mahindra’s third INGLO-based electric SUV, which will be named the XEV 7e, have leaked online. It is slated to go on sale sometime next year and will essentially serve as an EV equivalent of the popular XUV700.

The 7E looks more car like and traditional rather than the highly unorthodox 6E and 9E where the designs are polarizing. If I have to consider, I would love to own the 7E. Now the question I would have is the drivetrain. In the attached Pic, if you look closely, you will see an engine each on front and rear axles. Can it be safely concluded that this will have AWD capabilities ? That would be really awesome specially given that it has Drive Modes like Snow.

Also the pictures seem to be from the central console graphics and not really from an Actual car.
