It completely depends on your expectations. If you expect the battery will retain greater than 90% of its original capacity, you will be in for a rude shock. If you have the reasonable expectation that the battery will retain 70-75% of its original capacity after 15 years then there is little reason to be worried.

We have a thread on 'the cost ownership for a kona electric' by our very own ADI7YAK. He has driven his car for around 186,000 km (1.2 lakhs on the current 39.4 KWh NMC battery, ~60k on the old battery which was preemptively replaced by Hyundai due potential manufacturing defects on that lot of batteries) and he has not observed any change in the range that he is getting.

Check this screen grab from Faisal Khan's review. There is some empty space between the battery and the suspension area. This may be the empty space seen from the side also.
I wonder if this space collects dirt over time and may even start rusting if water stays there. Some animals are gong to make it a home (if left unused for few days)

Re: 2025 Hyundai Creta Electric Review

Hyundai CRETA Electric price revealed:

Hyundai Creta Electric is based on the standard ICE model
LR variant takes 58 mins to charge from 10 to 80 percent with DC charger

Hyundai offers the EV with two battery capacities: 42kWh and 51.4kWh. The smaller cell pack has an ARAI claimed range of 390km, while the Long Range (LR) offers a 473km range.

Powering the Creta Electric is a single motor on the front axle that drives the front wheels. In the Long-Range variant, this motor produces 171hp and 255Nm. The smaller battery gets a 135hp electric motor.

The larger battery takes 58 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 percent with a DC fast charger and 4 hours to juice it from 10 to 100 percent using a 11kW AC home charger.

Re: 2025 Hyundai Creta Electric Review

The price for Creta Electric revealed starting @ 17.99 lakhs

Pricing is on the higher side. Hyundai is trying to exploit Creta brand value. If we compare it to competition, Curvv with 55 KW battery comes Rs. 22 lakh top model and includes a 7.2 KW AC charger. In Creta, you pay Rs.73,000 for 11 KW charger additional.

Re: 2025 Hyundai Creta Electric Review

With this pricing, Mahindra has a bigger chance of becoming 2nd largest carmaker in India in 2025. BE 6 with 59 kWh for Rs 19 lakhs or Creta Electric with 42 kWh for Rs 18 lakhs is not a difficult decision.

The foreign brands (Honda, Suzuki in 2-wheelers, and Hyundai with Creta) are losing the plot with their EV launches while Indian companies like Mahindra, Bajaj, TVS, etc... are doing much better. There is no price difference between CKD Kona and new Creta Electric. After discounts, Kona was available at similar prices. With new launches, companies should be ready to cannibalize the existing models. Otherwise, the market will kill the new products anyway. This is what Mahindra has been doing very well for the last 3-4 years. They are not afraid of cannibalizing the existing as long as it increases the overall volumes and market share.

Re: 2025 Hyundai Creta Electric Review

Well, they didn't even announce the prices of the 51kwh variant. How much are they looking to charge for that one. It's clearly overpriced and I think we can see some discounts a year down the line.

Re: 2025 Hyundai Creta Electric Review

The review should be updated to state that a subsequent software update will enable faster charging in H2 2025, which will bring down the 10-80% time to a semi-reasonable 40 minutes, similar to the Nexon 45. I think a lot of us were shocked out of our wits by the pathetic charging time (58 minutes) currently mentioned in the review. I honestly thought Hyundai had taken leave of their senses.

They have just mentioned 58 minutes in their launch presentation. Disappointing.

Re: 2025 Hyundai Creta Electric Review

The LR is priced too steeply. Given the rumors are the Be 6E standard range is also 25 lakh, I don't see the reason to get the Creta LR anymore. Especially the higher variants.

Re: 2025 Hyundai Creta Electric Review

I was hoping atleast the Smart (O) 51.4kWh came under 20L. Feels like its overpriced by 2.5L considering ZS excite pro is selling at 19L after 1L discount. Now I am hoping Windsor LR is launched soon.

MG might not launch Windsor LR in India. If they do, it will definitely cannibalize sales of ZS EV. They are less likely to go in that direction.

Re: 2025 Hyundai Creta Electric Review

They have overpriced it by 2-3 lakhs. With the Mahindra Twins available at the upper end and the MG Windsor at the lower side, there shouldn't be many takers for this car. I'm kinda expecting them to have quite some unsold inventory by the end of this year and in October-November they'll be offering these cars at 3-4 lakh discount to clear the stock.
