Thanks, Car looks good, although I do wish the rear window was a tad bigger. Also I do hope Suzuki works on improving the look and feel of the interior bits along with the safety rating of this vehicle.

Re: Maruti e-Vitara @ Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

Maruti Suzuki cuts e-Vitara EV production by two-thirds amid rare earth supply disruption.

India’s leading automaker has reduced its near-term EV output target due to rare earth shortages, with plans to ramp up production later in the fiscal year to meet annual goals.

> The automaker plans to produce 8,221 units between April and September 2025—nearly a two-thirds reduction from the original target of 26,512 units.

>Despite the setback, Maruti Suzuki aims to meet its full-year production goal of 67,000 e-Vitara units by ramping up output in the second half of the fiscal year.

>Between October 2025 and March 2026, the company plans to manufacture 58,728 units, compared to an earlier target of 40,437, potentially producing up to 440 vehicles per day at its peak.

>Suzuki has revised its long-term sales target for India. It now aims to sell 2.5 million vehicles annually by March 2031, a reduction from its previous projection of 3 million.

>Additionally, the planned EV lineup has been trimmed from six models to four.

Re: Maruti e-Vitara @ Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

As known, Suzuki bets on the e Vitara for global markets. Now seen testing in Brazil.

> The brand is represented by the HPE Automotores group and currently has a portfolio formed only by the Jimny Sierra.

Re: Maruti e-Vitara @ Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

Maruti has quite the uphill battle to fight. They seem to be on the back foot already in terms of spec sheet fights. A few pre-launch reviews of the car from the foreign media shows that the vehicle is strictly an A-to-B mover with not much flavour to it. Also, this seems like a typical Suzuki product that has been built strictly on a budget, not keeping in mind the rising aspirations of the current fleet of customers who are going to shell out quite the amount for it. They won't be able to place it in their usual strong-hold price territory of 10-16 lakhs, until and unless they take a massive hit on their profits. Anywhere above this price range and the competition is already established and going strong with their respective strong plants. Until this is spectacularly priced to justify what its offering(which seems like won't be happening), the competition has the field for themselves.

The delay in making it available to us, is resulting in lost interest by many - like me.

Re: Maruti e-Vitara @ Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

Tata Harrier EV with its 65Kwh pack is priced at 21,49,000 (Base variant)
Mahindra BE 6 with its 59 Kwh pack is priced at 18,90,000 (Base variant)

Both of these are rear wheel drive cars.

Creta EV with its 51.4 Kwh pack is priced at 21,49,000 (Mid variant) (This is overpriced) And this is front wheel drive only.

E-Vitara has these 3 as it's competition. The highest battery size available with E-Vitara is 61.1Kwh and the lowest is 48.8Kwh.

Competition with Harrier EV:
1. E-Vitara in India is only coming with front wheel drive. Harrier gets rear wheel drive in base variant.
2. Larger battery pack from base variant (Larger and heavier and probably less efficient)

Competition with Mahindra BE 6:
1. Better road presence, bigger tires, rear wheel drive and a very high aspirational value!

I'm guessing, Suzuki would not put a more powerful motor eek out larger range from its front wheel drive powertrain. So it would not have the explosive torque like Harrier EV and BE 6. Things like 0-100kmph figures should be at least under 9 seconds. If it is any slower than that, customers will go with Harrier or Mahindra for those powerful drivetrains.

If Maruti wants to grab the EV market, it needs to price all its 61.1Kwh variants under 19 Lakhs. Otherwise they will be dead on arrival.

I think the ideal price for its 48.8Kwh base variant would be 14 Lakhs

Their top of the range 61.1kwh variant should not exceed 20 lakhs.

Only with this pricing, it can compete with the Windsor, Nexon EV and other players under 20 Lakhs.

Re: Maruti e-Vitara @ Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

It is wishful thinking to believe that Suzuki wants to compete with compete in EV space with the e-Vitara. We should look at this vehicle, as a "I am there too" type of vehicle, if I read Suzuki right.

It will be a no fuss vehicle that will not be priced to earn profits in India. Rather it is designed to earn profits outside India through the same formula as the Grand Vitara in Europe - It can do a bit of off roading and can dwell in city as well and has all the bells and whistles that is needed in Europe, except a high range. Believe me, Europeans do not get swayed by gimmicks like automatic parking and the likes.

Although I have mentally written off the E-Vitara as a vehicle of note in India, i am still interested to see the introductory pricing. I believe they're will start off at around 20Lacs price range for the 49kwH variant but then what do I know. One thing i am pretty sure about though is that the prices of the Mahindra Twins and the Tata Harrier will go up in next 6 months.

Same here, I have almost lost all interest as they are still not talking about AWD version and leave alone any idea on the price part. Currently Harrier.EV looks a nice option with almost everything that one could be looking for. Of-course if one doesn't have budget constraints.

Re: Maruti e-Vitara @ Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

I like the looks of this eVitara. It is modern enough without being too outlandish. Hope the build quality is better than other Maruti and closer to the Europeans.

The motor in eVitara is less powerful and less torquey. The specs and materials also resemble Baleno, Brezza and like. The tech involved is run of the mill. The max they should price to remain relevant is 18 Lakhs for the top variant in AWD.

Harrier EV looks to have put a big dent on Maruti's plans. Production rejig might to due to superior competition.
