Maruti Suzuki e Vitara to come with 10-year battery warranty in global markets

Suzuki has announced that its first electric SUV, the e Vitara, will be offered with a 10-year battery warranty in the global markets. It remains to be seen if Maruti Suzuki offers the same to its Indian customers.

The e Vitara uses lithium-ferro-phosphate (LFP) batteries. It will come with two options: 49 kWh and 61 kWh, with a maximum range of up to 346 km and 428 km, respectively.

The smaller 49 kWh battery pack will power a single electric motor producing 142 BHP and 192.5 Nm. The 61 kWh version will be available in single and dual-motor variants. The former has 172 BHP, while the AWD version packs 181 BHP and 300 Nm.

The Maruti e Vitara is expected to be launched in India later this year. However, we won't get the dual-motor version. The electric SUV will be manufactured at Maruti Suzuki's Gujarat plant.

Re: Maruti Suzuki e Vitara to come with 10-year battery warranty in global markets

Considering 8 years is almost the de facto standard, with some companies like Mahindra and MG providing a lifetime warranty for the first owner and up to 10 years otherwise, this seems quite competitive and in line with the competition.

Review from UK doesn't seem very encouraging. Too many corners cut. Considering Suzuki are late to the market, they should have done a lot better.
