elly in malayalam means rat, i will have to do lot of explaining whenever i tell her name to people :D. Wife also suggest foofy, but it sounds more like a funny sound than a name.

Pramod

A dog called rat! I like that . Same in Tamil: all I manage to learn of this language is some bird and animal names [Blush]

I think that skipper is fine. Can be made skip, skippie for nicknames too.

There are many more reasons why a dog would suddenly stop eating. Like missing his owner, mating season, many people feeding, feeling lonely, weather. GSDs don't eat much when it is too hot, try giving food at night.

The other reason could be the milk that you feed your dog! Many dogs cannot digest lactose. My GSD had this problem. The doc suggested to dilute the milk (equal portions of milk and water). Now you may decide on the portion of water based on the quality of milk :D.
Its only after this he eats quite well. But as many folks mentioned the GSDs are quite fussy about eating. So is mine. He eats once a day!

You could feed the dog with 2-3 table spoon of refined oil (sun flower oil) with his feed twice in a week to make the coat (fur) have a better texture and shine! This also reduces the hair fall (OF THE DOG :D)

This is the pic of my pet. His name is 'Mothi'

Hi Pramod,

Congratulations, she is adorable.

How about the name 'Wendy' as in 'the good little witch' to go with 'Casper the friendly ghost' if you want to go the way of the comics.

Wow Pramod you lucky dog! Just kidding. Congrats mate...
I couldnt think of any names myself, but I think Brandy is nice. Skipper/Skip too, but then its too masculine I guess

A friend moved permanently to US abandoning his Lab and I took the poor chap in.Now he is the boss of the house.

Lol motorpsycho. You got confused between me and Ranjan. He's the GSD guy.
I have a 2 labs and one golden retriever now.:D

But trust me its just wonderful to have them around.when you return from work with all the stress at the back of your mind and one look at these fabulous friends waiting at home and you forget everything.Great stress relievers I would prescribe everyone:Cheering:

Great gesture you did Alter Ego.

A thank you from me on behalf of my dog loving family.

BTW all of you i need some suggestions.

I have a 4 month old Rotweiller.Great dog but he's naturally (as in inbred) not like labs and the golden retriever i had before. He keeps his distance from guests and other dogs.

So now i need to know what all options i have to get a second dog and how soon should i get one.I just can't understand what to go in for.

Different people have different opinions. Some say get a Lab so that a pecking order is maintained because a lab is a submissive dog. Some say get another Rotweiller.and then some say get a bull mastif.I have no idea what to do.

help me out guys.

What are your suggestions and why do you think it'll be the right choice and how will be the behaviour of the two dogs together.I don't want my dogs fighting each other and not getting along.

Thanks Navpreet.

I have 3 dogs but they all go along pretty well.

I guess because all have the same temperment.

I would suggest to get some breed which has the same temperment as that of your rot.Would help them to understand each other and bond well.:thumbs up

Hey Alter/Surjith,

the lab is really well, we will meet some time next week and lets my lab and your lab meet...

what do you say..

That is what i also think. But contrary to our thinking there are a few owners who have owned same breed dogs and they say that there is a pecking order issue always and they keep getting into major fights.

Anyone here with same breed (aggressive ones) dogs living peacefully?
