Hey 14k,

Simply put, for this camera in particular :

1) Use the wide 28mm lens to your advantage. Instead of zooming in to objects, take a step closer. It will add a different look to your photos that not many other P&S cams can give you - since they are usually ~36-38mm equivalent wide angles.
^ This is the biggest advantage of this cam in my opinion.

2) Shoot on "P" mode, its pretty much Auto w/ added control (ISO, Force flash, exposure compensation etc)

3) Always make sure the Image Stabilization is on

4) Take some photos in macro mode. P&S cams can do some nice macros and the DoF otherwise missing in typical shots is now present.

Thats about it thats specific to this cam.

Finally I bought myself some good lens.

Canon 50mm/1.8f and a Canon 55-250 IS. Cant wait to get out and start clicking!

Here s some of my pics.. THe first one is not tweaked at all. Its an actual photo taken at 6-30am on a sunday morning outside taj mahal hotel. The last 2 are my first attempts with photoshop and since then ive got hooked onto it..

That is a very good composition. Also you have kept the DOF pretty deep, which is key in car photography. Always try to get as much DOF as you can in closeup auto photography.
