@sj_koova: Some modification of levels/curves and some detailing on the car would enhance that shot even more!

@clevermax: Wonderful post-processing there! Care to throw some light on what you've done? I love the tones!

@ajai: Simply superb angles and close-ups. Some talent there!

@TG: Dam you. I wish I could catch such exotics more often.

Here's one from my side of the good old Indica on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. One last time!

This one is a 2001 Tata Indica V2 DLS with almost EVERYthing stock - no ICE even! New tail-lamps added in 2009 to replace the old faded ones, new wheelcaps added to give the car some glitz after all these years!

Its abnormally loud, slow as hell in any gear, rattles at any speed above 80kmph, sounds like an airplane taking off at anything above 3000rpm and riding it fast and hard (120+kmph) is akin to sitting in a sitting in a cement crusher while its churning AND moving!

But its fun. And reliable. And doesn't break down for anything even after all these years. It goes anywhere and comes back to tell the tale!

Still lovin' it!

Always ready!

Cheers!

Payne, the emphasis in your snap seems to be more on the signboard, rather than the car.

@d_payne: That's an interesting composition. Is that an emergency phone on the highway? which road?

I had around 10 layers over the original image, so can't really recall everything which was done but here are some steps which I remember

1) Copied the b/g layer and overlayed it, added high pass filter to it to make the image more sharper.

2) Applied a layer mask to this layer to selectively sharpen the body parts of the car alone

3) Desaturated the whole image

4) Applied a photo filter with the tone which we see now

5) created yet another copy of the merged image to a new layer (Ctrl+Shift+Alt+E) and set the blending style to 'Hard light'

6) Applied a layer mask to selectively give this effect to the side portion and the bumper of the car and then reduced the layer opacity to 90%

7) selected the windshield alone and created a curve layer and worked on its tone

I guess that's mostly it!

@clevermax
Clever stuff!

I play a lot of NFS...these days I play NFS Undercover when I get time off. So Processed this shot in a way thats kinda similar to the in-game visual treatment.

Selective Gaussian blur? Btw, do you have motion blur in such games, your eyes only will get that perception right..?

Do you play GTA? I like GTA series more than NFS and such games. I especially loved the possibility of editing and recompiling the mission scripts in GTA San Andreas, so that I can ease/make missions as I want.

No gaussian blur at all! Its a pan shot with just an adjustment layer for hue/saturation and some curves correction. Thats it.
I dont play GTA because if I do, I will not open my books! It is addictive man! haha!

Here's one I caught in Malaysia. Well, the car's not visible in the pic, but such is the way of Gods and RRs - Indications are proof enough of existence.. ;-)

A not-so-successful attempt to provide motion blur in PS.
My car, brother sitting behind the wheel.
I used a Hoya 62mm circular Polarizer to cut the reflections from the windshield.

@TG, the GTR is looking fab in that picture. But one question. Is it my eyes or have you done something to make it look like the ground is falling away from beneath the edge of the front skirt that is closest to the lens? Somehow the gap seems to be uneven gap at the 2 edges. Nevertheless, I like the photograph.
