Tanveer, whatever happened to the tail lamps on your Safari?

benny, the shot is in IR. So the color of the glass does not matter, as red/white etc., all are equally permiable to IR. Thats why you see the silver of the reflector inside.
Since the windows do not have any reflective coating on the inside, they come out as "black"

The IR shots of the safari looks as if they are shot in some other planet having a very
thin or no atmosphere. I think it has got to do with IR scattering less than visible light(?).

I like these shots very much, thinking of buying an IR filter

Second tracking shot on the same day (post #1758 here). Little more of the side as light was looking good for the body line. This was slightly on higher speed than the first one.

Hazard switch was on because few bikers were playing stunt on the road..

Just perfect. Can't believe it is shot in some Indian road. Lots of reflections of sky in the car, CPL not used intentionally?

CPL will make very little difference here. CPL also tends to pull down neutral shades like black. any reflected middle tone will disappear. Only advantage with CPL or ND is to pull down exposure two stops. This was shot with 50 ISO any way.

Motion blur is most effective (read visible) on the subjects getting into the frame (top/bottom). As they get into center zone of the frame though they're apparently moving, they look almost static compare to subjects close to frame edges. Degree of blur will depend on shutter speed. This is during 3/4th kind of diagonal framing as you see here. This is not the case during horizontal panning shot. If you happen to see any diagonal shot with total side blur then please understand that is from some desperate post job and not real. Try it out yourself.

I get what you are saying, and I did think about it, maybe the position of the car sort of completed covered up the gradual gradient of the blur into non blur, Thanks for the detailed explanation!

But isn't CPL also useful for cutting down some of the reflected light unlike an ND? I understand that it always pulls down 2 or 1.5 exposure stops anyway.

I'll assume that it could be possible to darken at least the windshield with a CPL here. I might be very wrong in that assumption

I think using a CPL will cut down some reflections but it will be looking uneven throughout the surface of the car in this shot.

clevermax, CPL will cut reflections from glass, but not from metal. Reason is that metal reflections are not polarized. For example, if you point the CPL at a mirror, you will still see reflection, no attenuation takes place as the back of the mirror is silver foil or similar metal coating.

So if you are shooting cars with CPL, you can eliminate reflections from the windshield glass. This will make interiors show. However on the body, the attenuation will be very less.

actually there is some polarization depending upon the condition of body. From my experience, a clean waxed body does reflect light that can be cut using polarizer.
