Re: The Smartphone Photography Thread

I regularly click pics on an iPhone and submit to stock photography websites. Most make it through the approval process, and see sales too. It goes without saying that mobile cameras do a good job with their cameras and processing.

Re: The Smartphone Photography Thread

New age phones with brilliant cameras have changed the way we approach some everyday aspects of life – say going to a coffee shop. A well-presented coffee arrive on the table and the immediate instinct is not to taste the coffee but to frame the beautiful art-work done by the barista. On the flipside, the overly processes photos from some smartphones often can be an eyesore. That’s why I always prefer the output from a flagship iPhone (or Google Pixel) compared to say, a Samsung Note 20 Ultra.

Can you please share which stock photography websites you utilize?

Shutterstock is where most sales come through for me (they pay peanuts or worse), but Getty is more rewarding. I also dabble with Adobe stock and Dreamstime, but almost no action there for me in recent times - both in submissions as well as sales.

Re: The Smartphone Photography Thread

In my early college days I used to always carry my Yashica camera in my bag and had to be selective in taking snaps thanks to the limitation of number of pictures that can be taken on one roll. Later when I started working I bought myself a Fujifilm HS10 camera and then moved to a iphone 5s and now I am currently using the iphone X for the past few years.

Some pictures from over the years which I could easily locate on my Instagram

I do agree that smartphones are taking it to the next level in terms of photography, especially phones like iPhones. But, if there is one thing I miss in most phones under 30k, it has to be the telephoto option which allows me to zoom in to larger distances without distortion.

Re: The Smartphone Photography Thread

It feels amazing to see how far the technology has come and a device smaller than your palm can take such good pictures.
Apart from cars the other thing which intrigues me the most is photography. Here are some photos that I shot from my smart phone (iPhone 8 plus), hope you all like them!

Re: The Smartphone Photography Thread

I have a feeling that this is going to be a very very popular thread. I just got myself a iPhone 12 Pro Max primarily because of the camera chops. As they say, the best camera is the one you have with you at the time - i was finding that I did not have my DSLR with me all the time and when I did, it was too cumbersome to change lenses or carry two bodies especially while hiking/walking. To get around that I bought a Sony RX100 which has a 1inch sensor but again but it can only do so much. Tried the iPhone 12 Pro Max and I was amazed at the shots it could take in low light hand held. The RX100 could too, perhaps a little better at that when doing longer exposures, but it sure cant do it hand held. So here I am, with 3 camera DLSR bodies and a Sony RX100 clicking maximum pictures using my iPhone.

I will start with this
