Thanks!

Funny... there is a town called Holland here in the US in Michigan and they had a Tulip festival last month. I was expecting to see huge fields like this but they only had little rows of tulips in different colors.

Re: The Official non-auto Image thread

I have been watching this thread for 8 years now. I have to say that the quality of the pics on this thread has been steadily going up, especially the contributions of the regulars. Great job, all of you.

PS: Those tulip shots are truly outstanding Navin.

Thanks. Great shot!

Do the US-based folks have more time for photography?

Lovely shots! The flower fields were so vast that I didn't feel like focusing on only one flower, so no closeups from my side...

Spent another day inside the gardens. It was amazing.

Re: The Official non-auto Image thread

So I was looking at photos of some renowned international wildlife photographers.

Most of the good photos have been taken in Africa, or in exotic locations near the Arctic or N. America. Very few photos from India - and those are not all that good. And there is one photog who is doing tours to a private game reserve in Africa where the tigers are inside a huge private reserve - bound bu fences - where they roam around in the open! Lol - why not just shoot in open zoos? Focus seems to be more on shooting an animal than on the surroundings or context.

Then I look at our Indian wildlife experts e.g. some of Toehold photographers, a few folks here, some of the folks on Facebook or Indian Nature Watch. And their spectacular photos that can give the international photographers a run for their money anyday.

It is a lot more difficult to shoot a tiger in India than to shoot a lion in Africa. The spectacular vistas of African savannah makes it easier to take gorgeous photos, IMO, if you are there at the right time and with right gear.

Indian wildlife pro or semi-pro photogs need to market themselves, and more importantly, market India more.

Any thoughts, wildlife enthusiasts here?
