Re: The Official non-auto Image thread

On a recent road trip to Hyderabad, I saw the sun setting close to a sunflower field. It was a beautiful scene and felt almost like a painting.

So that was I did...captured it as a painting...

Glad to see you here ! Amazing details there, I used the same lens for an year or more, never realized it could go upto f/32 may be because I rarely go out of the f/1.4 to f/8 range !

One from a recent lifestyle shoot.

Yeah I had to do that to get the depth. I guess for most of your work you dont need that right? Here are some more from the series.

Wow, these are some amazing shots. What is the flash setup here? I saw the previous post, I am talking about angles.

Glad you liked them Samu. I placed them at a 45 degree angle on the right side and absolutely straight into the glass panel on the left side. The fill is from some aluminum foil that I used as a reflector and the position of that was very close to the camera itself on the front glass panel.

Don't mind me saying this but this is cruel to bring a nest with baby birds on it. That bird shouldn't even be there, forget about taking pictures of it out of it's natural habitat.

100% agree. Actually during recent heavy rains part of the nest with this single baby in it fell down from a tree and the boys picked it up to save it. They have been feeding it for 3 days until the little one started to fly. There were 4 of it siblings still in the nest. Now all 5 are united together and flying around merrily. My neighborhood is 75% green fields and 25% houses. Myself a bird lover am nurturing bunch of mynahs, sparrows and squirrels, who come to my backyard everyday to feed and living in nearby trees. I fully appreciate your concern and follow the same principles.

Oh ok, I didn't know the back-story and so commented (specially when I saw the words "for photoshoot). Please accept my apologies if I have been rude in anyway. And that's nice job that the kids did to help the bird.

These boys always comment 'now uncle will grab his camera and run' whenever any new bird comes and sits on the tree. There are tree pies, bee eaters, thumb sizes honey birds all come around here. Sorry for OT. Will post more birds..

The look of a Bengal Tigress. Tadoba National Park.

Edit: it appears oversharpened here on Team BHP.
